And the present perfect continuous tense is one of the most important part in all tenses. Its structure is complex and it is easy to confuse it with the present perfect tense. So it is placed in the last unit of Model 8,aiming to get the students to go over all tenses. The tense is always tested in the College Entrance Examination in the form of simple choice. Whats the most important is that students must learn to use it properly with other tenses in writing.Analysis about the students.The students have learned the other tenses before and they have seen the sentences using the present perfect continuous tense in the reading part. Besides, they are good at taking in new knowledge. But some of them are tired of learning grammar because they think its boring. So its essential for the teacher to direct them in their learning method and raise their interest in learning grammar.Teaching goals Knowledge and skills 1. To master the structure and basic uses of the present perfect continuous tense. 2. To tell the differences between the present perfect continuous tense and the other tenses, especially the present perfect tense. 3. To be able to use different tenses properly and form the strong sense about grammar. 4. To get knowledge about things home and abroad and broaden their horizon about culture. Learning procedure and methods 1.To learn to get to know something by means of feeling, discovering, concluding, comparing and applying. Besides, they should realize using language is the purpose of learning language and develop their imagination and creation during the course. 2. To learn to cooperate with others through group work. 3. To dare to and be glad to show themselves. Emotional attitudes and values 1. To raise their patriotism. 2. To help them to establish lofty ideals. Teaching important points To master the structure, usage and characteristics of the present perfect continuous tense.Teaching difficult points 1. To tell the differences between the present perfect continuous tense and the present perfect tense. 2. To use different tenses properly.Teaching method Cooperative grouping teachingTeaching equipment Multifunctional classroom and multimediaTeaching procedure StepI. “Today I am the teacher.” (Before class) The student on duty will lead the other students to recite two sentences of the text. The sentences are present perfect continuous tense. Purpose 1.To review what they learn in the last class and lead to the topic of this class. Purpose 2. To develop students habit of reciting. StepII. Presentation of the learning task Purpose: To make the students to be clear about what should be learned in this class. StepIII. Free talk Three students play a dialogue about the tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang. Seven different tenses are used in their dialogue, including the present perfect continuous tense. Another student evaluate their performance. Purpose1:To raise the students interest in archaeology and pride in Chinese culture. Purpose2: To serve as the material of reviewing different tenses and leading to the present perfect continuous tense. StepIV. Discovery Ask students to find how many tenses are used in the dialogue and find out the two sentences using the present perfect continuous tense. And then discover the structure and definition of the present perfect continuous tense. Purpose1: To develop the students strategy of learning grammarby discovering. Purpose2:To make the students get a general knowledge of the present perfect continuous tense and be prepared for the further learning. StepV. Further discovery Show the students four sentences and ask them to change them from the present perfect continuous tense into other tenses. Then ask them to discover the characteristics of the present perfect continuous tense. Purpose1: To develop the students learning strategy about grammarby comparing. Purpose2:To get the students to master the characteristics of the present perfect continuous tense. StepVI. Consolidation Ask the students to do some exercises of simple choice about the present perfect continuous tense. Purpose: To consolidate the knowledge about the present perfect continuous tense. StepVII. Practice Show students some interesting pictures and ask them to describe the pictures with tip words. The difficulty will increase with fewer and fewer tip words provided. Purpose1:To raise the students love of life and interest in news. Purpose2: To make the students realize the importance of practice in learning English. As we all know, “Practice makes perfect.” Step VIII. “Show yourself” First play a video of “My dream, Chinese dream”and then ask the students to work in groups to prepare to show their dreams in front of the class. Purpose1: To make the students to establish lofty ideals. Purpose2: To raise the students strong patriotism. Purpose3:To make the students use different tenses properly in real situation. Purpose4: To make them learn to cooperate with others and show themselves. Step IX. Self- assessment Ask the students to make a proper self- assessment about this class. Purpose: To make the students learn to assess themselves properly so as to benefit their life- long development. Step X. Homework Write a composition titled as “My dream ,Chinese dream” with at least 100 words, in which at least five different tenses should b
