Algor First TouchUI Autodesk icon style Autodesk UI style/Ribbon UI PV Designer should has consistent command UI for Single Nozzle and Multiple Nozzle Better display for loads/constraint added on faces. Currently were displaying the symbol (like arrows) on each node. This is a major architecture issue rather than a UI issue. Algor does not have the concept of faces or elements during preprocessing. It only works with nodes and lines. Elements and faces are creating during the decoding process which occurs immediately before the analysis is performed.Usability Many functions are embedded in the right-click context menu, not very consistent with Windows convention. These commands may better be added on toolbars. GT: Algor has a very wide spectrum of applications and applicable scenarios. I can understand why some commands are in context menus not in toolbar. Unless toolbar can be dynamically updated with each application/analysis type, it may not be easy to capture everything in the toolbar. On the other hand, your observation should be carefully considered, so pls be specific on what commands in which scenarios, it can help PD for considering them as wishlist items The selection object function is not convenient to use Please provide specific use casesJacky Can we provide an automatic object judging method when the user is trying to select? Take the following pictures as example:Click on the surfaceClick on the lineClick on the vertexIt means we dont need to switch the selection object frequently and just need to click on the object we want, and the program will help to take the correct object. Maybe itll be better to work together with the function of “Pre-select” mentioned by Jason below. Add “Cancel” or “X” button in some windows (e.g. PV Designer, sketch commands, etc) GT: Agreed, I added an image below to show it would be nice to have OK or Close button after user is done with the input Apply hotkey for commands especially Select tools and Mesh tools Modify sketches after meshing This is possible. In Inventor, when moving mouse cursor to hover over an object, the object will be in pre-selection state. And after clicking left button of mouse, the object will be in selection state. Please refer to the figure below:By using the pre-selection, user can easily identify the object he wants to select.Also, Inventor offers the function of “Select Other” when there are more than one object in the position mouse cursor pointing at. See the figure below:By clicking the “-” or “-” button, user can switch the object from collection.Jacky This concern comes from defining the Customer Vector Selector. It is used to assign the vector by two vertexes, but when I tries to specify the vertex, its not that clear for me to verify whether the vertex is the one I want or not . So, I think if it is possible that Algor can highlight or use some other method to emphasize the vertex instead of the pure tooltips (I got confused when I read the vertex number and its coordinate value) when the user hover the cursor on them. If possible, we may improve the function for Edge/Line/Surface in the same way. Please refer to the following pictures captured in Inventor and Algor. Better window Pan method through mouse Please provide specific use cases. Currently, if you hold down the Ctrl key and press the middle mouse button, you will enter Pan mode.Jason Thanks, we didnt know this without your reminding. However, there seems no hotkey hints. Need to develop a workflow-guided process in UI to make sure the users will not miss something, such as analysis parametric setting More detail tooltips Burn-through the selected surface in the graphics window when selecting it in the browser Remember the dialog position after relocating the dialog Provide the method to find the surface from Browser to Graphic, such as “Find in Window” in Inventor, its very useful for some small faceGT: Speaking of surfaces, as Inventor models are feature based, it would be great if under Part, Features are listed, then list surfaces, see image below For Orbit command, provide a convenient method to set the orbit center. (in inventor, there is Constraint orbit) When in Rotate mode, if you right click on a vertex, you can set it as the center of rotation. Enhancement for the measure tool, now the measure in Algor seems only works after Meshing, for the sketch and Model before meshing should support Make a list instead of a drop down for users input for different sets of FEA objects The statement “Beams on surface 1 will assign the local 2 axis in the Y direction; beams on surface 2 will assign the local 2 axis in the z direction” should be somehow presented in UI, otherwise itll be hard for users to understand for the first time.Functionalities Algor-Inventor interoperability need to be improved Better capabilities for model diagnosis and fixing when feature matching failure is detected Provide some simple function to fix the Model with bad importing result, like stitch the gap surface, (Inventor have CE and solid edit environment to fix the simple translator issue) Can modeling tools in Algor to be enhanced? Algor crashes a lot. More types of Multiphysics analysis GT: More testing for the existing functions Enhance the contact detection ability, especially in Automatic Detecting Enrich the contact type, such as sliding/no separation in AFEA Enhance the user-defined coordination (maybe along with the enhancement of point capture capability) To add face loads in frequency response analysis GT: as stated by Jim, this requires major architectural
