Can you tell me the way to the movie theatre? Go down this street. Turn right at the second crossing. 【教学难点】as引导的时间状语从句的用法。运用所学知识让学生介绍自己问路的情况。 课前准备图片,PPT 教学过程Step . Lead inLeading in 【情景1】T: How did you get to school today? What did you go past on your way to school?Ask several students to respond. Pretend to be a stranger somewhere and ask the way. Ask the students to help you present “asking the way”. 设计意图复习上节课内容, 创设情境, 引出本课谈论的话题。Leading in 【情景2】Lead in by showing some pictures of asking the way. Let the students check in groups and ask questions about the subject. Discuss the questions: (1) Have you ever lost your way?(2) How do you ask the way when you are lost?设计意图展示图片, 让学生讨论涉及问路和指路的日常用语。然后, 学习新课, 深入本话题的内容。Step . Listening 1. Listen to the tape and answer the questions. Before listening, show the questions to the students: (1) Who has written the way on a piece of paper?(2) Who tells Brian the way?After listening, check the answers. 【Keys】(1) Danny. (2) A lady. 2. Play the listening material for Exercise 1. And ask the students to complete the exercise. 设计意图学生通过听录音, 对听力材料要有大概的认识, 并完成相应的练习。Step . Reading1. Read the text and answer the questions. (1) Where is Brian?(2) Where are Brian and Danny going?(3) What did Danny do to help Brian find the movie theatre?(4) What does he do when he finds he is lost?【Keys】(1) Brian is on his way to meet Danny. (2) They are going to see a movie downtown. (3) He wrote the way on a piece of paper. (4) He asks a lady for help. 设计意图培养学生快速阅读短文提取文章大意的能力。2. Read carefully and fill in the table. What did Danny write on the paper?First the street. Then Cross the street and . Next and . Finally after you pass the , and the movie theatre will be straight ahead. 【Keys】Walk down, turn right, Turn left, walk through the park, Turn left, cherry tree设计意图细读课文, 任务的设计上加大了一定的难度, 对文章有更进一步的理解。3. Work in groups to deal with the key words, phrases and sentences. 教材解读1. “Lets see, ” Brian says as he reads the paper. as 作连词, 引导时间状语从句时, 表示“在期间, 当的时候;一边一边”。【辨析】when和as 引导时间状语从句的区别: when 可以和延续性动词连用, 也可以和短暂性动词连用;as多和延续性动词连用。when 从句的谓语动词可以在主句谓语动作之前、之后或同时发生;as 从句的谓语动词必须是和主句谓语动作同时发生。2. Walk through the park. through指通过洞、门、管道等, 表示“贯通、直穿、透过、穿过”的意思, 即从一头(边) 贯穿到另一头(边) 。The two men passed through the hall quickly. 这两个人快速地穿过大厅。【辨析】through, acrossthrough, across都指“从一边到另一边的动作”。区别是: across 表示动作是在某物体的表面进行的, 意为“横过, 跨过”;through 表示动作是在空间内进行的, 从内部通过, 意为“穿过”。3. “This must be it, ” Brian says to himself. must 在此处的意思是“一定”, 表推测, 一般只用于肯定句中。表示对现在情况的推测用“must + do”;表示对过去情况的推测用“must + have done”。He must be at home now, because his car is parked in front of his house. 他现在一定在家, 因为他的车就停在房子前面。It must have rained last night, for the ground is wet. 昨晚一定下雨了, 因为地面是湿的。 say to oneself意思是“心中暗想, 自言自语”。I said to myself, “Never give up”. 我对自己说: “不要放弃”。4. Oh no! This is not funny, Danny! Im lost! lost是 lose的过去式和过去分词, 在这里是形容词, 意思是“丢失的, 迷路的”。be lost in 意思是“沉浸在, 全神贯注于”。The boy is lost in playing games. 这个男孩沉迷于游戏中。设计意图通过组内合作讨论、探究, 找出文中的重点短语和句子, 把所学的知识转化为学习能力。Step .
