Show some postcards from different countries.(PPT展示实物图片,创设情境导入,让学生初步感知、认识postcard。)T: Postcard is a card used for sending messages by post without an envelope, especially one that has a picture on one side. Remind pupils that postcard is one word. (图片或实物展示envelope,并做适当解释)2. Prompt the pupils to talk about the uses of postcards.教师总结:T: We can use postcards to write short messages to their friends. People often buy picture postcards of places they visit during their holiday.3. Ask pupils what information we can find on postcards. (展示实物明信片,让学生通过看具体的明信片,了解明信片的写作格式,为学生自己写明信片做铺垫。)教师总结:T: A postcard should include these things: the stamp, the date, the name and the address of the person who gets the card, the message and the name of the person who sends the card.stamp:图片展示日期-Date: eg: 2013/9/24 24th September,2013 称呼-Who are you writing to? eg: Dear Twinkle,正文-Message:What do you want to tell that person? 结语-write a closing line. Look at page 4 with pupils. Point to the lions and ask related questions.What are they?When can you see them?2. Point to the postcard and ask :Who received the postcard?Who wrote the postcard?When did Cindy write the postcard?Where does Twinkle live?呈现问题,启发诱导,围绕课文插图和课文内容,让学生带着问题初读课文,引发学生思考。Step4自主体验设疑质疑1. Let the Ss to read the text and find out the meaning of the new words :January, free, February, special, Chinese New Year.让学生通读课文内容,标出新单词,并根据上下文猜测新单词的意思,或通过查字典,弄懂新单词的中文意思,培养学生的自主学习能力。2. Let the Ss say the meaning of the new words one by one.让学生依次汇报这些新单词的意思,给学生充分展示的机会,培养学生的竞争意识,老师对学生的精彩表现适时给予肯定和表扬,让学生体验成功的喜悦。3.教师点拨:January, February:教师手拿日历介绍新词,并带读,注意纠音。free: not busy eg: Are you free tomorrow? Read the text again and underline the following information: 邮票-stamp;日期Date;称呼;正文-Message:结语- closing line;落款your name;收信人姓名;收信人地址-Address:2. Ss talk about in groups and find out the information and then give the whole class a report group by group. 让学生分小组讨论课文中明信片的主要信息,并按小组逐一汇报,培养小组间的竞争意识和合作探究的能力。3. Draw Ss attention to the phrases in February and at Chinese New Year on the postcard. 教师例举类似的短语,提出问题让学生讨论:你发现了什么规律?in February, in January, in May at Chinese New Year, at Christmas, at Easter让学生小组讨论in 和at的用法,培养学生的合作学习能力。4. 老师小结:We use in before months.We use at before Festivals.(教师利用电子书上P7上的PPT系统讲解、操练in 和at的用法)Step 6 Practice show & report展示交流评价反馈1. Invite pupils to design and write a postcard to their friends, they have to put all of these things on their postcards: the date, the name and the address of their friend, the message and their own name. (教师利用电子书P4上的PPT系统介绍明信片的书写格式)2. Ss work in groups and complete the postcard with the give words3. Encourage the students to talk about when we can see these things.(利用课件直观展示春联、红包、鞭炮、烟花、舞狮子等图片和场景,给学生创造入情入境的学习和生活情境让讨论什么时候能看到这些特别的东西-感知巩固词组 Chinese New Year)2.Do some review about the phrase- Chinese New YearChinese New Year=Spring Festival=Lunar New YearStep 3呈现问题启发诱导1.Invite several more able students to talk about whether they like Chinese New Year or not and give reasons.Do you like Chinese New Year?Why? Or why not?What do you do at Chinese New Year?What do you eat at Chinese New Year?通过提问引导,对接生活,让学生回想我们在春节吃些什么?做些什么?喜欢过春节吗?为什么?为引出春节期间的special things and special food埋下伏笔,也为后面的故事学习做好铺垫。Step4自主体验设疑质疑1. Ask the students to think over and write down the things we do and the food we eat at Chinese New Year.2. Let the students to think about why we eat these foods and do these things, and find the answer after reading the story on P5. 让学生带着问题自主阅读关于“the origin of some Chinese New Year customs”的故事,标出新单词及词组,尝试通过上下文和文化尝试猜测其含义。3. 教师点拨:monster: 怪物-图片法展示 fields: here, fields means areas of land used for growing crops. 与garden, farm等结合起来讲scare: 动作法讲解 描述一个恐怖的情境,突然shout at someone, 创设情境举例解释:I scared you. 情境2:Look! There is a snake. eg: I scared Lucy. She is afraid of snake. 将be afraid of 和scare 对比起来讲lit firecrakers: 放鞭炮-图片法、动作表演法展示beat drums: 打鼓-图片法、动作表演法展示watch lion dances: 看舞狮子-图片法展示watch fireworks: 看烟花-图片法展示Step 5 Pair work & group work合作探究解惑释疑1.Divide the class into groups. Invite some students to talk about how they want to celebrate the New Year.鼓励学生开口表达,encourage them to be creative. Step 3呈现问题启发诱导1. Show some pictures about different countries and make the students to talk about what people do on New Years Day in these countries. (法国、日本、泰国)2. Tell the students how people in different countries celebrate the New Year:France: people exchange presents and greetings cards Japan: people give pocket money to children, make rice cakes and visit the temple on New Years DayThailand: people pour water over each other on New Years Day给学生说说几个国家过新年的习俗,让学生初步感知异域风情及文化特色3. Ask the students to look at P6 and describe the situation.T: Look! Twinkle and her family are celebrating New Year. What do they do at Star New Year?Please look at these pictures and talk about it. 让学生看图说话,谈谈Twinkle和家人过新年时干些什么。Step4自主体验设疑质疑1. Students practice describing the pictures by themselves.2. Let the Ss work in pairs to talk about what Twinkle and her family are doing in each picture.3. Play the recording and tell the students to listen for the things what Twinkle and her family do at Star New Year. 4. Play the recording again and ask the students to listen and tick the correct pictures. Pause at suitable intervals to allow the students to tick the answers.5. Play the recording a third time for the students to check the answers. 6. Check the answers. Step 5 Pair work & group work合作探究解惑释疑1. Play the recording again and ask the students to write down the phrases on each pictures. Pause at suitable intervals to give the students enough time to write the phrase.2. Use the key words and phrases to talk about Star New Year. To give the students an example:At Star New Year, every family puts a big basket outside their house. Their friends put gifts in the baskets. People dont eat meat at Star New Year. They eat vegetables. Children fly kites at Star New Year. Parents give their children lucky cakes. The cakes are red and taste sweet. Star New Year is a happy time for children. 根据板书的重点单词和短语,引导学生复述录音材料,给学生做个好示范,给学生口语表达提供范例。2. Games: invite twelve Ss to come out and give each of them a piece of drawing paper showing the name of a month. Have the 12Ss line up in the correct sequence of the months of the year.
