Warming up & listening1) To get students pay more attention to the ways of making telephone calls.2) To lead in the object clauses with “who what, how, where, when”.3) To train Ss listening skills.1) Before listening, give a short introduction about it.2) Play the tape and ask them to do Act1. 3) Play the tape again and ask them to number the sentences.(Act2). Then check answers页:2.第2和6步最好连起来,这样对听力对话的处理比较连贯。4) Give a short conclusion of the expressions about making telephone calls.5) Ask the Ss to do Act5 on p16. 6) Ask the students to retell the main idea of the conversation. Its function is to determine whether students can absorb useful information such as vocabulary, grammar, and data retention. In addition, students should be able to use the information to write a descriptive paragraph using objective clause. 教学目标To train the students to read the story in the way they should, that is to grasp the 5 wh-questionsTo enable students to retell the storyTo enable students to understand the authors purpose in telling the story知识与能力1. To be able to analysis the passage in different ways. 2. To learn to write about someone or something according to the writing sample.过程与方法1. Associating what they have just learnt to their real life would arouse students interest in learning. 2. To teach in several parts of reading so that students can get writing skills on how to describe someone or something. 情感、态度与价值观Through reading, teachers can help students understand their friends better and even know how to show cares to each other. 教学过程教学步骤1. Warming-up / Lead-in 活动目的1) Review and consolidate the vocabulary students have learned before. 2) Train students reading skill 教师活动1) Show a quiz question about “Are you a good friend?” on the screen, then show the score. 2) Arrange Ss into groups of four to discuss the following two questions to predict the content of the story. a. Who gave the beautiful smile?b. What happened with the beautiful smile? 学生活动1) Do it one by one individually, then read his/her own results. 2) Ss report their prediction, then Ss read the text to check their prediction. 2. Reading 1) Go through thewhole passage get an answer to a question 2) Help them get the rough idea of each paragraph3) a. Teach Ss a way focused on the five wh-questions in reading a story. b. Let them know how to guess the meaning of a new word without the help of dictionary. 4) Practise Ss skill of intensive reading1) Decide who is in the photo. 2) Have them divide the passage into different parts according the content3) Have one read “learning to learn” then play the tape in different parts, get Ss to do Ask and Answer based on the five wh-questions. Meanwhile teach language points. 4) Have Ss do Activity 3 1) Answer the question and give the reason 2) Divide the passage in Groups, then present the meaning of each paragraph. 3) Read the requirements then present the Ask and answer in pairs. Learn language points, among which Activity 4 is included. 4) Choose the best answer to the questions, then give the reason. 3. Writing 4. An English song1) Teach them how to write a passage about someone or something according to a way of writing.2) To enable students to retell the story in writing. Meanwhile, Help them learn how to use objective clause in retelling the story. 3) To enjoy English in music 1) Present a sample writing of this story, Have them find paragraphs that describe the following stages. The vocabulary learned in the previous units should also be practiced here, as well as listening and speaking practice related to friendship. The topic of pen friends is introduced in the section of Around the World, serving as the culture backgrounds. 教学目标To summarize and consolidate the object clause.To share different ideas about friendship. 知识与能力1.
