成人英语教育课程教学大纲高级英语阅读扬州大学外国语学院英语系成人英语教育课程教学大纲 高级英语阅读 课程教学大纲学 分:学 时: 100 适用专业:英语教育课程性质:学科基础课 先 修 课:基础英语 制定日期:2003年4 月 一、本课程的地位和作用高级英语阅读是成教英语专业本科必修的一门专业基础课程,是提高综合运用语言能力的实践课程,是对学习者进行语言技能综合训练,培养其听说读写的自学能力,并在此基础上加强阅读、翻译和写作,扩大知识面,深化语言知识,提高英语思维及参与各类交际活动的实际能力。通过这门课程的教学,为今后学习后继课程打下良好的基础,以便更好地提高中学英语教学水平。二、本课程的教学目标通过本课程的学习,全面提高学生的听说读写译等方面的能力,为国家建设培养出合格的中学英语教师。具体来说,学员应能够:1、基本听懂正常语速的非专题性英语录音材料,能就日常生活中的常见话题进行连贯交谈,能表达自己的思想,语言得体。2、学会分析文章的篇章布局,运用正确的观点评价文章的思想内容,体会不同语体的特点。学习者还应学会抓住文章要点,通过概括大意训练和提高写作水平。3、能根据所给题目在规定时间内完成短文写作。4、从事较高质量的口、笔头翻译实践活动。三、课程教学基本要求和内容 1、教学基本要求: 1)Predicting2)Skimming for gist3)Scanning for specific information4)Dealing with unfamiliar words5)Distinguishing main ideas from details6)Making a summary of the whole text7)Analyzing text organization8)Analyzing the writing style9)Understanding rhetoric in the text 2、主要教学内容:English Book 5Lesson One Salvation重点:(1) Language points: salvation; go on; revival; hardened; escorted and placed; gnarled; lower lights, take somebodys name in vain; a sea of shouting; in the name of; sin and crime; etc.(2) Rhetoric: metonymy (3) The theme of the text(4) Structural analysis of the text(5) Some knowledge from the Bible: sinners, Holy Ghost, revival, Jesus Christ, etc.(6) Word study: surround, strike, bear(7) Grammar: articles难点:In what sense has the author been saved?
