Would you mind closing the window?把窗子关上,好吗? 注意:mind的考点在于考查其作为动词时后面的动词一定要变为动名词形式。(2)turn down (音量)放小,(光线)调暗turn up (音量)放大,(光线)调亮 turn on 打开(开关、按钮)turn off 关(开关、按钮)(3)not at all“一点儿也不”,用在否定句中,加强语气,表示程度。 I dont like fish.我不喜欢鱼。 I dont like fish at all.我一点也不(根本不)喜欢鱼。(语气更重) 注意:还可以用于口语交际中作否定回答。 Im sorry.对不起。 Not at all.别客气(我一点都不介意)。 Would you mind putting away your clothes?把你的衣服收起来,你介意吗? Not at all.一点也不。 (4)Would you mind doing ?做你介意吗? 这是英语中委婉请求的表达方式。语气委婉,客气、礼貌,易于对方接受。 其结构是Would you mind doing其他?意同Could you please do sth.? 下面一组句子就是按语气的生硬到委婉排列的。以move your bike为例。注意动词move的形式。 Move your bike! Please move your bike! Could you move your bike? CouldWould you like to move your bike? CouldWould you please move your bike? Would you mind moving your bike?Would you mind not wearing those old jeans? 请不要,你介意吗?(请你不要好吗?)否定句式。其结构为Would you mindnot动名词其他?2. You have to help me make dinner.have to“不得不”,其意义及用法相当于情态动词must,两者都是在后面加动词原形。must没有人称和数的变化,have to则要随主语的人称和数进行变化,第三人称单数用has to,过去时用had to。 have to表示客观条件限制,不一定是主观愿望。意为“不得不”。 Its raining hard outside,we have to stay at home.外面正下大雨,我们只好呆在家里。 must表示义务,必须;表示推测,肯定,准是。 You must finish your homework today.你今天必须完成你的作业。help sb.(to) do sth.“帮助某人做某事”,如表示“在方面帮助”则应说helpwith:He usually helps me do my homework.他经常帮助我做我的作业。Can you help me with my homework.你能帮助我做我的作业吗?3. The pen you bought didnt work.你买的钢笔坏了。 sth. doesntdidnt work某物出故障了(坏了) 原句可以改写为There is something wrong with the pen you bought. 如:Tom的自行车坏了。可译为: Toms bike is broken.Toms bike doesnt work. There is something wrong with Toms bike.4. I get annoyed when someone talks to me while Im reading .(1)get annoyed = get/become angry “变得气恼,使生气”,annoy在此作形容词用。I got annoyed when he came back late last night.当他昨天晚上进来的时候我很生气。I was annoyed by his bad manners.他的无礼使我恼怒。 (2)talk to “跟说,对说”,类似的表达还有:talk with“和谈话” talk about“谈论人或物”(talk with/to sb. about sth.)Im talking to you about the latest news. 我跟你讲有关最近的新闻。Who are you talking with? 你在和谁谈话呢?(3)辨析:when与while 两个单词都有“当时候”的意义,都可以引导时间状语从句。 when通常表示某一动作发生的具体时间,后面多跟瞬间动词。 My mother was cooking when I got home. 当我到家的时候,妈妈正在做饭。 Remember to turn off the lights when you leave the room. 当你离开房间的时候,记着把灯关上。 while表示动作发生的一段时间,其意义为“在做期间”“在做的过程中”,所修饰的动作多用延续动词。 Toms father was reading a newspaper while he was doing his homework. 汤姆做作业的时候,他爸爸在读报。 I met some of my good friends while I stayed in my hometown. 我待在老家的时候碰到了我的几个好朋友。5. Perhaps in the future I should try not to be so polite. try作动词,意为“努力做,设法做” try to do sth.试着做某事;尽量做某事。否定式为 try not to do sth.We should try to stay with our family on holidays.我们应该尽量在假期和我们的家人呆在一起。Im trying not to get annoyed.我尽量不要生气。 try作动词还有“尝试,试用”之意。try doing sth.“尝试做某事,试着做某事” She tried finishing her homework without help.她尝试在没有帮助的情况下完成作业。 Weve tried this medicine, but it doesnt work.我们已经尝试过这种药物,但是没有奏效。 常见的与try的搭配词组有 try on试穿 have a try试一试try out尝试,试验try ones best to do sth.尽某人最大努力去做某事6. What should I get my mom for her birthday? get“得到,买” get sb. sth = get sth for sb.为某人买某物 类似表达:buy/ make/ cook sth. for sb. Ill get/ buy/ take it.我买下了。Can you please get some food for me?你可以给我带些食物吗?What kind of pet do you want to get?你想要那种类型的宠物。 get还有如下含义和用法: “得到,获得” Please tell me how I can get the job.你可以告诉我怎样才可以得到这份工作吗? “收到,赚” I got a letter from my pen pal yesterday.我昨天从我笔友那边收到了封信。 “到达,抵达”,和介词to连用。What time does she usually get to school?她经常什么时候去学校? “带来,拿来” Please get me a cup of tea.请帮我带杯茶。 “使做”get sb. to do sth.“使某人做某事”He always gets us to do a lot of things.他经常让我做很多的事情。“使成为(某种状态),成为” Spring is coming. The weather gets warmer and warmer.春天来了,天气变得越来越暖和了。 其他动词,如give, pass , bring , show等常在间接宾语前用介词to.Would you please pass the salt to me?你可以把盐递给我吗?He showed all his photos to us.他为我们展示了他的所有照片。should“应该”,表示征求意见。should为情态动词,后跟动词原形。What should I /we do?7. No way! Thats too expensive.Dogs are too difficult to take care of.第一句中的too意为“太,过于”,用于形容词或副词前。Hes too serious. So his students are.(too serious)tooto“太以至于不”,表示否定意味。George is too young to go to school.乔治还太小,不能上学。 这一句型可用sothat代替,而that后的从句多用否定句。上面两个句子可换成: George is so young that he cant go to school.乔治太年轻了以致于不能上学。 Grandpa is so old that he cant read by himself.祖父太老了以致于不能自己看书。如在too前面或者后面有否定词not,则整个句子表达肯定。 This question is not too difficult to answer. 这道题不太难回答。He is too clever not to see that. 他很聪明,不会不懂这一点。8. Whats the best gift you have ever received? present指礼物的一般性用语,gift是比较正式的用法。这里“he/she has ever received”是一个现在完成时的句子,充当gift的定语从句,省略从句引导词that。This is the worst show Ive ever watched.这是我看过的表演中最糟糕的。Its the most beautiful place Ive ever visited.这是我曾经参观过的地方最漂亮的。辨析:get与receive get是一个具有多重意义的动词。它的基本词义是“得到”“获得”,可以这样理解,在“获得”某物时,可能是被动接受,也有可能是主动争取。 I got a pet dog from my friend,Jim. 我从我的朋友吉姆那儿得到了一只宠物狗。(可能是Jim赠送或者是主动索取) Xiao Lin was hungry,he wanted to get something to eat. 小林饿了,他想弄些吃的。(get,主动动手) receive,收到,接受,这里显然是接受的意思。 I received a letter from David last week.上周我收到了大卫的来信。 Lucy received many gifts on her birthday. 露茜生日的那天收到了好多礼物。9. Fish are easy to take care of. take care of“照顾,照料”,与look after意思相当。 You should take care of yourself. = You should look after yourself. 你应该自己照顾好自己。 “照顾好”可用look after well或take good care of sb./sth.The teachers look after the children well. = The teachers take good care of the children.10. Later, the same gift may be given away to someone else. later副词,指实际上的“以后,稍后”,“较迟地,较后地”,可指过去或将来。See you later.Later, the man stood up and went out.之后,那个男人站起来走出去。late常见的搭配有:later on稍后,过后sooner or later迟早 give away分配,分送,赠送。He gave all his money away to the charity.他把他的钱捐赠给慈善机构。 give常见搭配还有:give back归还,送还give out分发,分配give in屈服,投降give up放弃give a talk/ speech讲/作报告 give sb. a call/ message给某打电话/捎口信11. In the USA, some people ask their families and friends to give money to charity rather than buy them gifts.rather than与其(不如),不是(而是),它可以连接任何词性相同的词。The color seems green rather than blue.颜色看起来像是绿色而不是蓝色。They are shouting rather than singing.他们是在喊而不是在唱歌。Id rather play chess than go swimming.我更喜欢下棋而不是游泳。“宁愿而不愿”有如下表达: would rather do sth. than do sth. prefer to do sth. rather than do sth.I prefer to stay at home rather than go out in the heavy rain. 我宁愿呆在家里也不想冒这么大的雨出去。 prefer sth to sthI prefer green tea to coffee. 绿茶和咖啡比较起来我更喜欢绿茶prefer doing sth. to doing sth.I prefer cooking myself to eating out. 我宁愿自己做饭也不愿出去吃。12. People dont need to spend too much money. Instead, making a meal is enough.need to do sth.必需做,提问及否定用助动词do, does, did.You dont need to bring it here next time.Does everybody need to finish their work now?instead副词,意为“代替,取而代之的是”,instead of代替I dont like coffee, so give me tea instead.Youd better finish your work first instead of going out.Were going to the museum instead of the park.(3)need的用法:作情态动词的用法:need用作情态动词时表“必须必要”的意思,后直接跟动词原型,且need无人称、数的变化(第三人称单数不加s),也没有非谓语形式(不定式、分词)。 注意:need用作情态动词时常用于否定句和疑问句中。例:Needhebringhislaptoptomorrow?明天他必须带他的笔记本过来吗?Comeon,youneedntworryaboutitbecuseitsnotyourfault.行啦,你不必担心的因为那不是你的错。Sheneednthavearrivedsoearly,needshe?她本不必到得这么早,不是吗?注意:must引导的一般疑问句的否定回答必须使用neednt。例:- MustIleave?我必须离开吗?- No,youneednt.不,你不必离开。need作实意动词的用法: 1、 need+something需要某物Ineedsomefruitstoeat.我需要些水果来吃。2、needtodosomething需要做某事Youdontneedtohavethebikerepairedrightaway. 3、needdoing=needtobedone需要Theroomneedscleaning=Theroomneedstobecleaned.房间需要打扫了。4、needsomebodytodosomething需要某人做某事 Ineedsomeonetohelpmeoutofthisproblem.我需要找人来帮助我解决这个问题。l 重点语法: 一、“Would you mind doing”句型透视 “Would you mind doing?”是常见的句型之一,学习时,首先应了解mind的基本用法: 1. mind用于肯定句,意为“当心、照应”,如: You must mind what I say. 你必须留意我说的话。 2. mind用于否定句、疑问句和条件句中,意为“介意、反对”等,如: Im sure that he wont mind. 我确信他不会介意。 3. mind用作名词时,意为“主意、意见”等,如: Her mind was not entirety on her work. 她的心思没有完全放在工作上。4.mind用作动词时,习惯后接动名词(短语)作宾语,而不接动词不定式,常用于Would you mind doing?句型中,具体用法是: 1). “Would you mind doing?”句型常用于表示请求,意思是“请你做你是否介意?、请你做好吗?”,是一种比较客气的表达方式。如: Would you mind turning off the light in the room? 请你把房间里的灯关掉好吗? “Would you mind not doing?”表示“请你不要做你是否介意?、请你不要做好吗?”。如: Would you mind not standing in front of me? 请你不要站在我的前面好吗? 2). 如果同意,表示不介意时,可用如下用语来表达:Certainly / Of course not. / Not at all. / No, not at all; 如果不同意,表示介意时,常用“Sorry / Im sorry.”(对不起)及陈述某种理由来表示拒绝或反对。如:Would you mind going to the movies this evening?今晚去看电影好吗?Im sorry.
