How will a child behavior if they start drinking? 13 Which of the following is not mentioned as a proper way of parents to solve the problems?Passage 2The number of people in the world is growing. The fastest growth is in developing countries, where there is already a shortage(短缺) of food, housing, and jobs. Africa is the fastest-growing part of the world. In Kenya, for example, the population will increase 10 times in the next 80 years. In Asia, a few countries have begun to reduce their population growth slowly, China still makes up about 21% of the worlds population, but it has greatly slowed down its rate(速度) of growth. It is now growing at a rate of only 0.8% per year. In India, however, the population continues to grow, and it is expected to be even larger than the Chinese population by the year 2040.The population in India is growing three times faster than in Australia, Japan, and the developed countries in Europe. In fact, European people are more worried about population decrease(减少)than increase. Eastern European countries are growing at a rate of only about 1%. The best news is that, in general, population growth has slowed down from 2.08% in 1970 to 1.6% in 1985. At the present rate, the earliest that the world could reach zero population growth is 2040. At that time, there will probably be about 8 billion people in the world. It is possible, though, that the population might not really stop growing until much later. With people living longer, the number of elderly will have grown by 15% by that time, and ageing will become a problem14. What part of the world has the highest population growth rate?15. What are people in European countries worried about?16. What may happen in 2040?Passage 3 Man is a land animal, but he is also closely tied to the sea. Throughout history the sea has served the needs of man. The sea has provided man with food and a convenient way to travel to many parts of the world. Today, experts believe that nearly two-thirds of the worlds population live within 80 kilometers of the sea coast. In the modern technological world, the sea offers many resources to help mankind survive. Resources on land are beginning to grow less. The sea, however, still offer hope to supply many of mans needs.in the future. The riches of the sea yet to be developed by mans technology are impressive. Oil and gas explorations have existed for nearly 30 years. Valuable amounts of minerals such as iron, copper and so on exist on the ocean floor, Besides oil and gas, the sea may offer new sources of energy. For example, warm temperature of the ocean can be used as the steam in the steamship. Sea may also offer new source of energy as electricity for mankind. Technology is enabling man to explore ever deeper under the sea. It is obvious that the technology to harvest the sea continues to improve. By the year 2050 experts believe that problem to explore the food, minerals, and energy sources of the sea will have been largely solved. 17. How did the sea serve the needs of man in ancient time?18. What is the purpose of mentioning a steam ship in the passage?19. What places an important role in exploring sea resources?20. What is the best title for the passage?Section C The people who lived in Rome two thousand years ago were already complaining about the noise in their city.
