Read Speak up and know the details 学程预设导学策略调整与反思Teaching ProceduresSTEP 1 Showing some picturesShow some pictures of some famous persons, asking the students if they know about these persons and their jobs. Teach the word social worker / ponytail/ shy. A lot of students know about the people above. They like them. Get the students to read the names correctly, especially Celine Dion(席琳。狄翁).Get the students to talk about their future plans, using the following sentences. I want to be a _ when I grow up.I would like to be as popular as _ is when I grow up.I hope to become a famous _ and _ in the future.Encourage the students to give their reasons very briefly. And lead them to think about what they can do for other people and what they can do for the society. help other people with their problems travel around the worldmake people happy meet different people make friendsSTEP 2 Listening to the tapeSay Nora(诺拉) is now talking to Amy about her future plan. Please open your book to page13, and look at Part A1 to listen to the tape and tick out what Nora says about her future. Play the tape for the students to listen to. It is quite possible that students cannot catch all the information. So it is very necessary for you to play the tape for a second time. Play the tape a third time and pause to check the answers. Make sure that every student find the right answer and fill in the blanks correctly. For stronger classes, I think it may also be helpful to let the students listen and repeat the dialogue. STEP 3 Read the passageGet the students to read Part A2 aloud. Ask the students to read the passage silently and find out What Nora tries to do and why Millie wants to be a social worker. What does Nora try to do? a. She tries to be kind to his classmates. b. She tries her best to help her friends. Why does Millie want to be a social worker?a. She can listen to peoples problems. b. She can help people to solve their problems. c. She will be happy if she can make people happy again. It is because of Millies personality (kind and helpful) that she wants to be a social worker. Social workers are also kind and helpful. Personally, I think this may help to develop the students ability to organize their speech and writing. STEP 4 Listening to the tapeSay Sandy wants to write about her future plans too. She is talking to Daniel about it. Ask the students to listen to the tape and tick out Sandys future plans in Part A1. Play the tape twice, if necessary. Help Sandy to complete the letter to Mr. Zhou. STEP 5 Read the passage togetherGet the students to read the passage together. Ask the students to read the passage silently and find the answer to the question why Sandy wants to be an artist. Why does Sandy want to be an artist?Get the students to focus on these sentence patterns, because they may be very useful when the students write their own articles. They also help to get the students to think about the reasons of their own future plans. STEP 6 Making your own future plansEncourage the students to have their own future plans. Work in groups to talk about them. Encourage the students to speak out the reasons for having such a future plan. STEP 7 free talkingAsk the students, Do you know a lot about your patterns future plans? Lets talk about our best friends. STEP 8 completing the dialogueHelen and Sandy are going to talk about her friends. Listen and complete their dialogue. -Whos the boy on the left? - Oh this is Peter.
