It was a kind of plate.我收到一份礼物，是一种类似盘子的东西。C. kind of 有点，稍微：Im kind of hungry.我有些饿了.类似用法：The lions are really scary. 狮子真的很吓人。 He is a bit/a little fat.他有点胖。2. be from/come frombe from 由什么地方来, 是什么地方人的意思 (有祖籍那里的意思) I am from China. 我是中国人。 come from 从什么地方来 (只是简单说从那里来) I come from China. 我从中国来。（但不一定是中国人)a. 两者均可表示”来自哪里”指明说话者的家乡不过come from 属于短暂动词，不和延续时间连用， be from 可以 eg : I come from China.= I am from China. b. Come from 还可表示从某个地方来，而be from 则不行 eg: I come here from my uncles .我从叔叔家来这的。3. be like/ look likelook like 主要是问外貌be like 主要是问性格，并且应用范围更大一些，有时候既问性格也问外貌Whats your sister like?你姐姐怎么样？/你姐姐是怎样一个人？She is kind.她很善良。She is a beautiful kind girl with long hair and two big eyes.她是一个长发大眼漂亮又善良的女孩。What does your sister look like?你姐姐长什么样子？She is tall. She is very beautiful.她个子很高。她有一头黑黑的长发。她很漂亮。She looks like her mother.她看起来象她的妈妈。（外貌）She is like her mother.她象她的妈妈。（性格）在做句型转换的时候 Whatdo/does sb. look like?的同义句可以做成What be sb. like?Whats she like?=What does she look like?她看起来象什么?上述中的look为联系动词，后接形容词,记着，能直接加形容词的，就可以用how来问，而look like+ 物体，所以不能用how，要用what另外，look like和be like中的like 均意为“像”，是介词而一般的动词like就是喜欢的意思4. be made of/ be made from两个词组都是都表示“由制成”，主语为制成品，但be made of 是表示制成成品后，仍可看出原材料是什么，保留原材料的质和形状，制作过程仅发生物理变化, 例:The sweater was made of woolen. 毛衣是羊毛作的(可以看出的)be made from是不可以看出原材料的, 后者材料的外形或特征，或原材料在制作过程中发生化学变化，在成品中已无法辨认例/:The paper is made from wood纸是树木作的(看不出来的) 关联词组：be made by 后接动作的执行者, 表示“由（谁）制造” Be made in 后接表示地点的名词, 表示某物在某地生产或制造 The door is made wood. This kind of wine is made grapes.5. lose/lost lose 做动词，表示丢失，丧失，如：Now a lot of elephants lose their homes. lost 做形容词，表示丢失的，迷路的，如：The boy gets lost, so he comes to me for help. 另外lost也是lose的过去式和过去分词, lose-lost-lostYou cannot _ yourself in computer gamesMy ID card is I see a dog on the street.
