uncontrolled and users should always check for the most recent revision READY TO START The Ready to Start of CO compressor is configured in compressor PLC Common Trip status of 2 out of 3 loops is sent from SGS to PLC which is taken into account for ready to start START UP The CO compressor could be started either From Compressor remote panel From site local push button panel Then the Start command is sent to electrical room via SGS Running feedback from electrical room is sent to SGS to check discrepancy between ON command and Status of the motor This information is then sent to PLC Power consumption is directly sent from electrical room to PLC NORMAL OPERATION 1stStage Suction pressure Vaporisation pressure of liquid CO in thermo siphon is adjusted by 1ststage suction pressure If the pressure is higher then corresponding temperature in Cold box is higher and would affect cold balance CO recovery For stable operation of the Cold Box it is necessary to maintain stable compressor 1st 2ndstage suction pressures DCS will control this pressure via PIC 11482 1ststage suction pressure and will send an output to PLC PLC will send signal via a low selector to inlet guide vanes on site 2ndStage Suction pressure CO CH4 column pressure is adjusted by 2ndstage suction pressure If the pressure is higher then corresponding heat duty reboiler duty required to produce CO is higher For stable operation of the Cold Box it is necessary to maintain stable compressor 2ndstage suction pressures DCS will control this pressure via PIC 16706A 2ndstage suction pressure and will send an output to PLC PLC will send signal via a low selector to inlet guide vanes on site SHUTDOWN The trip conditions are separated into 2 categories Safety Trip Conditions These trip conditions are generated as a result of 2 out of 3 voting logic and are configured in SGS system These signals are transferred to PLC via DCS Following are the loops configured in this category PT 11616 1stStage PI 11685 Lube oil pressure This trip signal is sent from SGS to electrical room EY 11699A B C and compressor is stopped Machine parameters trip Conditions All the other instruments on the compressor motor are connected to PLC PLC will monitor generate trip signal if required This trip signal is sent from PLC to SGS IN 11601 and compressor is stopped by SGS EMERGENCY PUSH BUTTONS Emergency push
