Environmental ProtectionNowadays, with the development of the industry, the economy as well as our daily lives, weve already got away from the hard times. Life seemed so good. But at the same time, this has already brought a lot of environmental problems. Since environmental protection has become a heated topic these years, Id like to say something of my own to show my opinions on it.There is a close relationship between economic development and environmental protection. Without a good environment, it would be hard to further our economy. On the other hand, with the rapid development of our economy, there would be enough funds to improve the environment. Also, our health is deeply affected by the environment. We drank water, we ate vegetables, fruits and fresh meats, we breathed air, etc. Once the environment was destroyed, it would leave us harmful substances or even worse, it might have no possibilities for us to ask for anything from nature. And we human beings will no longer exist.In my opinion, I think water pollution would be the most severe problem. Now we are facing water crisis. First, our need for water is constantly increasing due to population growth. Second, with the development of industry and agriculture, more and more water is polluted, which leads to reduction in drinking water. Third, in our daily life, people waste a large quantity of water without any awareness. Without any doubt, we are now facing a very serious problem, water shortage.While water pollution has influenced our daily life most. More and more people are suffering the problem of air pollution.Air pollution is one of the major problems of the modern world. A great deal of energy is needed to run the factories of modern industrial nations. Automobile, trains, planes and busses need energy, too. Nearly all of this energy is produced by burning fuels. The burning produces wastes, which remain in the air, causing air pollution.The last pollution that I want to say is that deserts spreading.But deserts still threaten the world. Experts believe that land which is on the way to becoming desert equals the size of Australia, Russia and the United States put together. Facing this situation, what should we do? As for how to protect environment, there are several measures that we students can do. Firstly, attach importance to peoples education. Make people aware of the importance of environmental protection. In our daily life, we can participate in some environmental protection activities. Hold some publicity activities to appeal to the public. Secondly, try to recycle resources such as water, electricity, goals, woods, etc. Dont waste everything even if you are wealthy. Remember to understand the theory of sustainable development. We should take full account of next generation and leave them resources available. Thirdly, build up a better habit to not litter rubbish around and keep our living conditions clean. Pick up small trash and help throw them to the trash cans. And learn to classify daily-life trash as to retrieve them a little easier.one thing we should always keep
