M:Today is the final stage of this qualifying competition in USST. The 15 winners from the preliminary contest will display their talents for communication in English to win the place in the final. We believe they will give their best performance, and we also trust that you, the audience, will enjoy the excitement.Competition rulesF:Now lets go over the rules of todays contest. Each contestant will be given 3 minutes to present a prepared speech, 3 minutes to present an impromptu speech followed by answering questions from judges. M:The theme for todays prepared speeches are “what we cannot afford to lose” and “ My view on social networking”. Today we will hear the contestants view on these themes. F:The topic of the impromptu speech will be given to the contestants after they finished their prepared speech. Then they will have 20 minutes to prepare for the impromptu speech. After impromptu speech, each contestants will be challenged by one question posing by the judges. The contestants will be given one minute to answer the question. M:The highest possible score for each contestant is 100 points: 30 points for the prepared speech, 40 points for the impromptu speech and 30 for their performance in answering questions. The contestants speeches will be measured on content, language and the way they deliver them.AwardsF:As for the prizes of todays competition, there will be 2 top winners , 2 winners of First Prize, 3 winners of Second Prize and 8 winners of third prize.
