Yesterday I rode over to my old school to see how things were going. I went to the office for a pass and spent about an hour and a half visiting seven of my old teachers. My old math teacher was glad to see me. She introduced me to the class and some of the students asked questions about what high school was like. But the real adventure started when I found three former classmates at the office. Jasleen was the first to see me: Hi, David! Why are you here? The same reason youre here. Youre visiting someone, right? They wanted to visit our former English teacher, but the receptionist wouldnt let them in! Its against the rules to visit while classes are in session. You let me in, so why not them? I shouldnt have let you in; sorry. Well only be there a few minutes, said Jasleen. I cant let you; the teachers have a job to do. We were told to leave the office. So, we sat on the floor of the entrance hall, thinking of ways to get into the building. I wondered why the receptionist had let me in. Maybe because she knew me, maybe because I was just one person, or maybe simply she was in a good mood. We werent ready to give up, though. Jasleen made calls to everyone she knew in the building, but no one answered. Thats what we were doing when the schools principal walked by. We appealed (恳求) to him. He told us exactly what the receptionist had, but in more condescending (婉转的) language. He sent us out of the building. The adventure ended in the icy air outside, watching the principals bald head moving away. Jasleen and her friends got their parents to drive them home; I rode home. The principal didnt find out that I had chained my bike to a bench near the front door. That must have been against the rules, too! I found the day rather funny; I had never before been ordered out of a building, especially my own school! You can imagine how Jasleen and the others must have felt. How flexible should rules be? You decide.16. According to the passage, which of the following statements is correct?A. The writer is a college student.B. Jasleen spent about an hour and a half visiting their old teachers.C.
