You raise me upThe theme: learn to admire and sing the song you raise me up1 Aims of Activity (1) Learn to admire and sing the song you raise me up.(2) Based on this song, to improve students ability of speaking, listening and reading. Also to develop students interest and self-confidence to speak English. (3) By singing this song, students learn to encourage themselves and appreciate of any help from others. 2 Important and difficult points (1) Important points: students can read the key words and expressions of this song and have a good command of the language points and sentence pattern; learn to sing this song. (2) Difficult points: how to sing this song with correct and full emotion; how to thank someone in their daily life in proper way. 3 Activity procedures Step 1 greeting and leading in (1) Firstly I will greet with the students like this: hello, boys and girls, do you have the best friend in your life? Why does he or she can become your best friend? Encourage students to give the answers. (2) Friends are very important in our life, today we will learn about one song admiring friendship, families or anyone once give you help in your life. Step 2 listening and guessing (1) Firstly introduce the background of this song then listen and enjoy the song you raise me up with students together, then let students guess the main idea of the song and share their feelings about this song.(2) Secondly guide students to read the key words and expressions of every line, guess the meaning then explain it. Step 3 singing and practice (1) Listen the song again then sing it with students together, pay attention to students pronunciation and intonation. (2) Then let students sing each line one by one and practice.Step 4 production (1) This song is wrote to thank and admire help and care from friends, families or others in your need. Now do you have any words or something want to say to your friends or families? Then put some words on your heart-shaped card and show your love or appreciation for them. (2) Let some students share their words then stick to the blackboard. 4 Homework and conclusionFrom this song you raise me up, tell students that we should appreciate of help and care from our friends, families and others. They raise me up, so i can stand on mountains. Then students and teacher enjoy the song again to end this activity. Homework: ask students to practice this song again after class until they can sing it fluently; after being back home, say thanks/thank you to their families. 教后记 本届英语特色活动课选取听歌曲学英语的方式进行,目的是为了让学生们在兴趣和快乐中学习语言知识,了解国外文化。选取you raise me up 这首歌的出发点基于学生们的兴趣,之前通过班级调查了解到学生们接触过这首歌,并且有很大的兴趣想学会这首歌;这首歌是励志歌、感恩歌中的经典,寓意深刻,具有很大的教育意义,这也是选取本首歌的原因之一。 本堂活动课形式新颖,但在歌词学习的处理上还是需采取传统一些的方式,比如通过领读、跟读的方式带学生认识歌词中的生词和短语,明白句子含义,掌握个别句子结构。此首歌对学生学起来有难度,先对歌曲背景展开介绍,为了让学生们更好的理解歌曲要表达的内涵。此首歌是励志、感恩歌曲,通过后面的拓展部分,让学生把自己想说的话写下来给自己的朋友、家人或者帮助过自己的陌生人,从而学会感恩,学会自我激励,勇于面对学习和生活中的困难挫折。 本堂活动课也存在着很多不足之处:这首歌曲对于初一的孩子起点稍高,虽然他们有很大的热情,但是学起来还是比较吃力,一整首歌曲学下来可能还有好多个孩子还不知道歌曲讲了什么;对歌曲背景的介绍不够,进度有点快,没有突出歌曲的励志感恩意义是怎么来的,这个地方让学生理解起来有困难。还有唱歌的时
