It was based on the costume of Tang dynasty of China and gradually developed through more than 1000 years history.The kimono we see today mostly inherit the costume feature of Jianghu dynasty. Japanese fully and perfectly express their impression for art on kimono.The folk dances and traditional art cant do without kimono, for the kimono can display the elegancy and beauty of Japanese women. Japanese people always wear business suit when they work, especially for people work outside and salesman, their companies demand the worker must wear business suit. The young people are always like to wear fashionable and informal dress in spare time.The dressing of Japanese people is neat and tidy; especially the Japanese women like dressing up and make up properly. They are particular about dressing.The kimonos are various and change constantly in designs, color and texture in thousands years.There are obvious differences in dressing kimono between man and woman (The man kimono is singular in color and emphasize black with less style, thin waist band and simple accessories so that easy to wear, While woman kimono are colorful with wide waist band, various style and many accessories.) People wear different kimono in specific situation and time to show prudence.(Women have kimonos for wedding, adult, dinner, ceremony and also common kimonos.) The knitting, dyeing and embroidery of kimono and its complex rules in dressing solemnly make the kimono an art of work. (Japanese people usually wear clogs and clothe socks when dressing kimono and comb different hair style according to the type of kimono.) The designers constantly innovate in style, color and texture, and boldly use their design on kimono. This make the modern image skillfully assimilate into the classic beauty history of kimono.In Japan, there is still a painting genre specialize in drawing the women wearing kimono. These paintings not only keep the color, texture, design, fashion and accessories of kimonos in different period, but also reflect dressing rules and different poses with different expressions when wearing it. The paintings also express the attitude and fondness of artist and the people in the same age. Besides, there are some specific rules and taboo in wearing it.
