Effects on Culture Due to IT What is culture? What is information technology? And what is the relationship between them? We may define culture as follow. Culture includes arts, beliefs, customs, inventions, language, technology and traditions. A culture is any way of life, simple or complex. While information technology concerned with improvements in a variety of human and organizational problem-solving endeavors through the design, development, and use of technologically based systems and processes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of information in a variety of strategic, tactical, and operational situations. Take the Internet for example, it offers people an opportunity to watch sports events or watch some significant theatrical performances on TV or on computer at once. Last but not least, IT affects the transmission way and the means of culture. In the past, newspapers, photographs, magazines are printed or published by means of paper. However, nowadays, Internet and digital newspapers as well as other digital products appear in our daily life. More and more accesses are added to culture transmission as a result of informatization. All of these make a great contribution to accelerating the propagation speed as well as promoting culture dissemination.
