However, laws failed to show the popularity of football and by 1681 it received official approval in England. In the modern society, football gains growing popularity around the world. Many countries have their own national teams, and many great football players have become household names. FIFA was created in 1904 to coordinate the national football associations in the world. The first World Cup was held in 1930 in Uruguay (乌拉圭). Ever since then, the world has witnessed the World Cup every four years. This year, it will be held in Brazil.
