against the war It was written by Joseph Heller He used to be an bombardier of U S Air Force He used to devote himself in the battlefield of the Second World War then he choose to be a writer and a teacher for a long time This novel actually can be seen as a part of his real life s reflection The people in the novel are very scattering and the stories of each people are very different Especially the heroine of the novel Yossian is very disgusted with the war In other words we can see each person and their story singly But the heroine Yossian is always running through the whole novel So the analysis of main characters is very necessary if we want to get better understanding of this book This paper mainly analyze the main characters in the novel and the social factors which caused this kind of hustle among the militants and the reasons why they act so different in front of war The analysis of characteristics of the people in the novel would help readers understand the theme of the drink the liquid of a bottle with DRINK ME and becomes bigger after eating a cake with EAT ME written on it Then she encounters many animals who can speak like human such as mouse and birds and they even hold the caucus race For adults this story plot is absurd and ridiculous because it will never ever happen in real life and in logic it s absolutely wrong and banned However it s fittest and best for children because its purpose is not to tell a rigid principle and it has no standards but give them an pleasant spiritual enjoyment and endless imagination And Alice s amazing adventure is what many children have been looking for and dream about They don t like the adult world which is complicated and confusing In adult world people always have many rules and principles and they always knit their brows always busy on constant works and always compare this to this Children don t understand that and also don t like that However children can find their spirit belonging that is Alice s should have planted the red rose tree but they planted the white one In order to not to be fought by the queen they must pain the white rose into red In real life there are many people dare not to admit their faults and do many things to cover it Their life are difficult and uneasy Covering their mistakes may making them feel better at the moment But the world need the true thing If more people reveal the helplessness of the adult in the real world In the novel Alice converts her figure and identity constantly and she can t recite the right poem so she often has no idea who she is She feels has tried her best She cries as many little girls do when they meet difficulty and find themselves helpless However when she is crying she scolds herself severely and advises herself to leave it off let them run away She dares to resist the Queen and speaks for those ordinary people At the court the king and the queen judge at random and other people dare not to say anything When the king wants to judge by a poem when he does not read it at all Alice say it can t prove anything when you don t know the content of it Alice s precious and valuable qualities still make readers touching and
