dustbins could be recycled in fact during our discussion So we thought it would be better if we could classify rubbish we told our idea to our teacher and he supported us very much We became volunteers to classify rubbish Firstly we got three big boxes and put them in a corner of our classroom One is for waste paper one for plastics and Coke cans and the other is for batteries With teacher s help soon all the students took part in the activity of classifying rubbish In a month we collected three boxes of paper a box of batteries and a box of plastics and Coke cans We sold them for 28 Yuan and bought some young trees with the money We planted the trees around our school We were all spoken highly of by our school principals Now we keep on the job and are all proud of improving environment 2 The government has been doing a great job And what about us What should we do It s just one step to take for you for me for everyone If every tourist uses less plastic bags how much white pollution would disappear if everyone tries to reach one place of interest on foot how much clearer the sky would be and if no guest asks the hotel to change towels every day how much less all love our earth So now let s turn our passion into action If not us who If not now when 4 How to save environment I think we should do the followings First it s best to ride a bike to school don t idea is turning off the shower when I m not using it Fifth it is important to save water and money Also I won t spend too much money on expensive things Last we had better not cut down the trees we knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers Our environment is the place which we live but it is being ruined by us As you know there are four kinds of pollution They are air pollution water pollution waste pollution and noise pollution But what can we do to solve the pollution I think first we can make cars that don t pollute the environment Second we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water Third we should not throw rubbish in the parks We can pick up rubbish if we see it Fourth we can live far from the noise The air water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives such as the air people may cough and it will lead to cancer So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy You might ask yourself Have I ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin It s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected Not long before about 10 Doctors in Beijing university and Qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture Frankly speaking I don t quite agree with them Indeed we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as China boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions examples But why can t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture There are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in China 用心 爱心 专心 3 On the one hand some of the western holidays which we Chinese don t have are reasonable and meaningful such as Father s Day and April Fool s Day etc On the other hand the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in China Overwhelmed
