阅读理解三 阅读理解 共两节 满分 共两节 满分 45 分 分 第一节 阅读理解 共 20 小题 每题 2 分 满分 40 分 A Lu Xun is one of the greatest Chinese writers of the 20th century Besides his famous stories he also wrote many influential articles about the living conditions of Chinese people Born in 1881 to a wealthy family Lu Xun had a happy childhood In 1893 however his grandfather a senior government official was put into prison for taking money At the same time his father became seriously ill From that time on his family were no longer accepted by their relatives and friends These early experiences greatly influenced his writing By the time Lu Xun arrived in Nanjing to study at university in 1899 he already believed that Chinese society had to change and become modern In 1902 he went to study in Japan There he began writing articles for several Chinese student magazines He showed a gift for writing and translating and even wrote several books although none was popular He returned to China in 1909 because he was in need of money After working for several years as a teacher in Beijing Lu Xun again returned to writing In 1918 he wrote his famous short story Diary of a Madman It was the first Chinese novel published using the everyday language that people spoke which helped make it a great success This together with his novel The True Story of Ah Q 1921 made Lu Xun a leading Chinese writer Although successful Lu Xun still worried greatly about China s future In 1926 he moved to Shanghai and gave up writing stories in order to devote himself to what he called pen warfare He now only wrote articles which called on the people to fight against the government For this the government stopped him from publishing any more books He was forced to write his articles using false names Since his death in 1936 Lu Xun s importance and influence have grown Today many of his writing are included in school textbooks and his works are read by millions around the world 26 Which of the following greatly influenced Lu Xun s writing according to the passage A The people he met in Japan B The experience in his early life C Working as a teacher in Beijing D His father s being put into prison 27 According to the passage why western style 28 The underlined word This Paragraph 4 refers to A the success of Diary of a Madman B the use of everyday language C the first Chinese novel D The True Story of Ah Q 29 After moving to Shanghai Lu Xun mainly wrote A funny stories B articles about himself C articles against the government D stories about government officials 30 In what order did these events take place in Lu Xun s life a The government stopped him from publishing books b He wrote Diary of a Madman c His father became ill d He moved to Shanghai e His writings were put into textbooks A c a b d e B c b d a e C a c d b e D a d b c e B In many businesses computers have largely replaced paperwork because they are fast flexible and do not make mistakes As one banker said Unlike humans computers never have a bad day And they are honest Many banks advertise that their transactions are untouched by human hands and therefore safe from human temptation Clearly computers have no reason to steal money But they also have noconscience and the growing number of computer crimes shows they can be used to steal Computer criminals don t use guns And even if they are caught it is hard to punish them because there are no witness and often no evidence A computer cannot remember who used it it simply does what it is told The head teller at a New York City bank used a computer to steal more than one and a half billion dollars in just four years No one noticed this theft because he moved the money from one account to another Each time a customer he had robbed questioned the balance in his account the teller claimed a computer error then replaced the missing money from someone else s account This man was caught only because he was a gambler When the police broke up an illegal gambling operation his name was in the records Some employees use the computer s power to get revenge on employers they consider unfair Recently a large insurance company fired its computer tape librarian for reasons that involved her personal rather her professional life She was given thirty day s notice In those thirty days she erased all the company s computerized records Most computer criminals have been minor employees Now police wonder if this is the tip of the iceberg As one official says I have a feeling that there is more crime out there than we are catching What we are seeing now is also poorly done I wonder what the real experts are doing the one who really knows how a computer works 31 What does the underlined word mean in Chinese in the first paragraph A 能力 B 信心 C 可能 D 良心 32 Which feature of computers makes computer theft possible A They are fast flexible and accurate B They usually feels good C They have no conscience D They are honest 33 A certain head teller at a New York City bank was exposed only when A his name was found in illegal gambling records B he was replacing the missing money from someone else s account C a customer questioned the balance in his account D the police broke up an illegal gambling operation 34 According to the passage which of the following might explain the reasons for some other computer crimes A Personal jealousy B Revenge C Professional D Thirty days notice 35 What conclusion can a reader draw from the passage A Computer criminals are minor employees B Of all crime computer theft is but the tip of the Iceberg C Computer crimes are all so poorly done D There is more computer crime out there committed by real experts C I love Charles Barkley like a brother but we disagree from time to time Here s an example of what I mean I disagree with what Charles says in his Nike commercial the one in which he insist I am not a role model Charles you can deny being a role model all you want but we don t choose to be role models we are chosen Our only choice is whether to be a good role model or a bad one I don t think we can accept all the glory and the money that comes with being a famous athlete and not accept the responsibility of being a role model of knowing that kids and even some adults are watching us and looking for us to set an example I love being a role model and I try to be a positive one That doesn t mean I always succeed I m not saint 圣贤的 I make mistakes and sometimes I do childish things But you don t have to be perfect to be a good role model and people shouldn t expect perfection If I were deciding whether a basketball player was a positive role model I would want to know Does he influence people s lives in a positive way away from the court 球场 How much has he given of himself in time or in money to help people who look up to him Does he display the values like honesty and determination that are part of being a good person Kids have lots of other role models teachers movies stars athletes even other kids As athletes we can t take the place of parents but we can help reinforce 巩固 what they try to teach their kids Constantly being watched by the public can be hard to stand at times I don t think most people can imagine what it s like to be watched that closely every minute of every day But the good things about being a role model outweigh the bad It s a great feeling to think you re a small part of the reason that a kid decided to give school another try instead of dropping out or that a kid had the strength to walk away when someone offered him drugs But one thing I would encourage parents to do is to remind their kids that no matter which athletes they look up to there are no perfect human beings That way if the kid s heroes should make mistakes it won t seem like the end of the world to them 36 The author of this article holds the opinion that A a famous athlete ought to set a good example to the public B a famous athlete needn t be a role model if he doesn t want to C a famous athlete can t deny being a role model D it s hard to be a role model 37 According to the author a positive role model A can win more money and fame B are not allowed to make mistakes C are the most important examples a child can follow D can have some positive influence on people s follow 38 The underlined word outweigh in the last paragraph probable means A be greater than B be worse than C be less than D be lighter than 39 Which of the following is best supported by the last paragraph A A good role model can stop children taking drugs B Kids usually expect too much of their role models C Dropping out of schools and taking drugs are the two most serious problems American kids face D Kids drop out of school or take drugs if seeing their heroes make mistakes 40 The author of this article is probably A an admirer of Charles Barkley B a famous athlete himself C a sports reporter D a famous writer D A Tight Situation Sometimes funny memories are the most special way to remember a beloved except my girdle My knees were blue and my legs lost all the feeling My husband was asking questions and trying to com fort me As soon as the minister pronounced them married I rushed out with my husband Please just get me out of here I said We ran out to our car and once there he opened the front and back passenger doors against the next car Right there before God human and the wedding party
