1 第十章第十章 甲板实习生面试问题及参考答案甲板实习生面试问题及参考答案 大多数实习生往往刚或者即将从海事院校毕业 考虑到这些人并没有什么 船上工作的实践知识 任何船东在面试实习生时都不会提问船上实际工作中遇 到的问题 而主要是考察实习生是否在学校学到了比较扎实的专业知识 以及 英文水平 身体素质 精神面貌 个人性格 人品等如何 扎实的专业基础知识表现在所修过的课程的内容 所取得的成绩等方面 为了给船东一个良好的影响 最好能基本说出所学课程的英文名称 该门课程 的主要内容 以及通过学习某门课程的收获如何 我们这里特别提醒您的是 不要对学校和学校所开设的课程有太多的抱怨 因为你如果对学校 学校所开 设的课程认为全都一无是处的话 那么 船东会认为 既然学校那么差怎能培 养出什么像样的学生呢 船东多数是外国人 过多批评本国或本学校的不足也 是一种妄自菲薄的表现 此外 船东还可能认为 你这个人可能会对所有的事 情都很挑剔 很难和他人合作 也很难适合团队的工作氛围 因为他们可能会 想 你有可能认为船东公司及船上的管理规定也一无是处 至于你的英语水平 船东通过和你的交谈就一目了然了 目前 中国海事 院校毕业的学生英语水平尽管和前些年相比有很大的提高 但总的来说和诸如 印度 菲律宾等船员输出大国相比还有一定的差距 也还不能达到国外一流船 东 特别是欧美船东的要求 另外 航海专业英语比较薄弱也是很多毕业生所 共同的问题 很多同学一般介绍类的英文还行 但一但要用英文说一些比较专 业的问题就卡壳了 不是不能回答 而是不能用英文表达自己的意思 所以 建议大家在面试前或上船前费点时间 把学过的专业英文词汇复习一遍 本书 在附录部分列举了一些常用船员专业英语短语和词汇 大家可以参考 该背下 来的要背下来 另外 在面试前千万不要放弃英语的学习 对中国学生而言 我们英语学 习的环境的确稍微差了一些 原因是如果自己不利用课堂 教科书 媒体等学 习英语 几乎很难遇到其他讲英语的环境 所以建议大家在待派期间 选上一 两本好的英文教材在家系统学习 走遍美国 PERSON TO PERSON SIDE BY SIDE 等教材都是很好的练习听力和口语的教材 这些教材系统性强 语言 活泼生动 利于自学 当然 大家如果经济条件允许 参加一些短期英语学习 班系统学习更好 此外 利用电视 收音机等英语教学和新闻节目听英语也非 常不错 还有 若想纠正自己的发音和提高自己的听力 应该经常收听美国之 音 VOA 和英国广播公司 BBC 的节目 当然最好是收听他们提供的 SPECIAL PROGRAMS 特别节目 以及他们提供的英语教育节目 总之 英语学习决不是一朝一夕的事情 而是一个持之以恒 不断提高的过程 应该 利用一切时间和机会 时时不可懈怠 有的船员 特别是刚刚毕业的学生 觉得应该在船东面前显得谦虚一点为 好 因此可能会对船东说 I am sorry Sir my English is not very good 这也许 并不是一句好话 这里有个东西方文化差别的问题 对于台湾 香港 新加坡 以及韩国等东南亚人来说 谦虚是个美德 他们绝大多数人也许并不喜欢善于 表露和夸张自己的人 而对于西方人来说 他们并不理解谦虚这种我们东方人 所认可的美德 换句话说 你如果在西方人面前表现出十分谦卑的样子的话 他可能会认为你这个人对自己没有信心 或认为你真的干不好什么似的 所以 2 针对来自不同地区的船东 要有不同的策略 也就是说 在亚洲船东面前 稍 微显得谦虚一点并没有害处 而在欧洲和美洲船东面前 要显得有自信心 要 让对方觉得你能干什么 并且能干好 但是 值得一提的是 随着全球化和一 体化的趋势的加强 不同文化和文明的人们的接触和沟通越来越多 不同的文 化融合的趋势越来越明显 人们的思想和思维方式也越来越接近了 总的来说 在接受面试时 自信的人还是绝大多数考官所喜欢的 当然 对于即将迈向社会的学生来说 家庭情况 个人情况 人生观 价 值观 理想信念 业余爱好 将来的打算 社会责任感等对于他未来从事的事 业有很大的影响 船东在面试时自然不想错过考察实习生这方面的情况 所以 实习生在面试时更应该考虑在这些方面给船东留下一个很好的第一印象 很多同学在学校品学兼优 但到了社会上却很难成功 归其原因 在于没 有学会如何到社会上做人 如何和他人相处 船东当然不太希望雇佣这样的船 员 所以 在管理和心理学方面的船东还可能会通过一些问题来看毕业生在管 理 人际交往 性格等方面的问题 在这方面 我们要特别提醒的是 不论你 的性格有多么特殊 如过于表露或过于沉默 为了面试成功 你回答考官问题 的答案以及你的表现尽量显得你是一个常人 而不是大多数人所认为的特殊性 格的人 标新立异当然并不一定是件坏事 但是 刚刚走向社会的人来说显得 普通平凡一点还是大多数人所认可的 当然 实习生刚刚从学校出来 要在成人面前显得天真 热情 活泼一些 也很重要 其实 船东并不希望刚从校园迈出来的毕业生就很世故 把世上什 么事情都看破红尘 愤世嫉俗 狡猾多端 油腔滑调都是船东所不喜欢的 俗 话说 要想做事 先学会做人吗 另外 年轻人就该有年轻人的朝气和活力 老气横秋 把世界看得一片炎凉 船东和考官们也是不会喜欢的 笔者发现 有些毕业生尽管英文和业务都不是很好 但那种热情向上的态度却迷住了考官 面试中反而成功了 在谈及自己的理想时 要让船东觉得你这个人在平凡朴实 自信的同时 又不乏具有远大的抱负 是任何公司都应该培养的人 下面的问题是船东在面试实习生时可能要提问到的 笔者就有些问题提供 了参考答法 much When I was a child I had great admiration for the capable master whose stories always moved me very much I love challenging the sea so if I am a sailor I will have the chances to work under the waves and challenge the rough sea and weather I also want to put my knowledge learned in school into practice Otherwise it will make no sense for my knowledge learned in school Besides I am a village 对于绝大多数船东而言 他们绝大多数人希望雇用的船员有长期为 公司服务的愿望 谁都不希望自己培养的船员 特别是实习生 没干多长时间 就走人了 所以说 为了你的成功 也不要太坦诚 7 Do you think that sailing is a very ideal job for you 你认为海员工作是个非常理想的工作吗 Yes because I love the job very much Today it is not easy for the new graduates to get good jobs Compared with those students specialized in other major I am lucky because I can get a job much more easily than they 5 8 When do you want very much But I know that it is not easy for me to get the job and I should treasure the job opportunity very much I think my girl friend will give me understanding on my job How many departments are there in a vessel and what are they As far as you know what equipments are there in the bridge deck department Where are they located on board 船上有几个部门 都叫什么名称 根据你的了解 甲板和驾驶台里都有那 些设备或机器 知道他们的大致位置吗 As far as I know usually a ship has three departments the deck department the engine department and the catering department There used to be a radio department on board but now this department s functions are implemented by the deck officers In the deck department there are such positions as the C O the 2 O the 3 O and a bosun several Abs and several ordinary seamen and maybe a C O in supervising cargo handling operation 5 measure the draft at the discretion of the C O or master 6 the master on the bridge with anchoring and mooring and unmooring work 7 before leaving port or
