Oliver Twist Oliver Twist is a critical novel and plays an important role in literature It is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century It was written by Charles Dickens who was born in England at 1812 and died in bed in 1870 Charles Dickens was born in a poor family and he wrote this novel when he was young He was engaged in literature and had many novels He had a sense of humor when he wrote the novels but we can t only understand the literal meaning We should think like a philosopher spends much of our time in contemplation He focused his attention on the people who lived at the bottom of the society in England and most of his novels are about that stratum We can learn from his novels to know about the England In a word he made a big contribution to the world Oliver as a hero in Oliver Twist who was an orphan and lived at workhouse for 9 years He was thrown into a world full of poverty and violence Then he was sent to the coffin store as a workman He escaped from coffin store because of hunger poorness and humiliation In London he met the Dodger and became a thief had no choice Fortunately he was saved by Mr Brownlow who was a kind people Oliver got the education and could read the books when he lived with Mr Brownlow He also could eat all kinds of food and wear beautiful clothes But the happy time was destroyed by the devil Nancy one of the devils who refused to help the devil and laid down her life in the end Why she died She tried her best to help Oliver Finally the devil was arrested by the police and Oliver lived a happy life with Mr Brownlow People are distinct from others in this novel They have their own charters I was shocked by his sufferings He suffered enormous pain such as hunger beating and abuse Although Oliver lived darkness he had a bright heart Compared poor people with wealthy people to know that the unfair treatment in society In the novel Oliver just ate porridge when the board ate chicken bread fruits and so on After I read the book I know that devil can not defeat the goodness Oliver is kindness and he is hopeful for good life when he meets difficulties Don t care for the hunger Don t care for the bad weather Why do we still explain about the life Be satisfied with what we have now and return it to the society In my opinion the nature of goodness is one of most necessary character for person I also believe that good is more than bad in the world Although some people think it is foolish who have warm hearted and they attach importance to money and benefit But a person without goodness is destined to lose everything Francis Bacon said Goodness of all virtues and dignities of the mind is the greatest being the character of
