考纲词汇复习和写作 Teaching design 1. Students will be able to use the words and expressions reviewed in the class properly.Appearance: ordinary-looking / plain-looking, attractive, outstanding, of medium/average height, of regular features, thin, athletic, middle-aged, in his forties;Achievements: awarded as, honored as, chosen as;Hobby: likevery much, be interested in, be fond of, be crazy about, show great interest in;Talent: be good at, have a good talent/gift for, be talented/gifted in, be expert / experienced in;Education: fail in, be admitted to, major in;Career: be offered a position, make profits;Personality: strong-willed/determined, capable, sociable, hard-working, ambitious / aggressive, creative, wise / sharp-minded, confident;Others: sharp, at a loss, be acknowledged as, seek, be exposed to, expand, etc.2. Students will be able to know about some writing tips and write a passage to introduce a person.3. Students will be able to learn a life lesson that determination is vital to success.Teaching ProceduresStep 1 Lead-in 1. Play a guessing game. (Introduce the achievements of Mayun and ask the students to guess “who he is?”. )设计意图: 1) 引入话题。2) 介绍马云的一些成就,为课后的写作任务做好一方面的铺垫。3)复习词汇:enterpriser, founder, former, awarded as, honored as, chosen as.Step 2 Talk about appearance1. Show some pictures of Mayun and encourage the students to describe his appearance.2. Ask the students to avoid the words that convey negative feelings, such as: ugly, short, skinny/bony.设计意图: 1)复习词汇(外貌描写):ordinary-looking / plain-looking, attractive, outstanding, of medium/average height, of regular features, thin, athletic, middle-aged, in his forties 2 ) 关注Tip 1 Proper words make vivid description.Step 3 Talk about hobbies and talents1. Ask the students to talk about Mayuns hobbies and talents, using expressions as many as possible.2. Ask the students to give some supporting information, thats to give some examples.设计意图:1) 通过让学生谈论马云的爱好和特长,复习“爱好和特长”的表达法:likevery much, be interested in, be fond of, be crazy about, show great interest in;be good at, have a good talent/gift for, be talented/gifted in, be expert / experienced in。2)复习词汇:foreign, guide, deliver, impressive, inspiring. 3)关注 Tip 2 Examples make what you say convincing. Step4 Talk about education1. Give the information about Mayuns education and ask the students to translate the two sentences, trying to use good sentence structures and flexible expressions. 1) 两次高考失利。1984年第三次高考,被杭师院(Hangzhou Normal College)英语专业录取。- He failed in the College Entrance Examination at the first two attempts. Step5 Talk about career1. Encourage the students to use verbs or other expressions to describe Mayuns ability and personality.设计意图:1) 复习词汇: give up/ lose heart/ quit, hold on to/ stick to, have the ability to, communicate with, challenge oneself to, devote oneself to doing, make efforts to overcome, feel satisfied/content with, have a good nose for, make proper judgment, make correct decisions in a dilemma, explore something new, have firm belief in 等。2)关注 Tip 6 Colorful expressions make a good passage. 3. Guide the students to use some proverbs or sayings or famous quotations to conclude Mayuns life. 设计意图:1) 关注 Tip 7 Proverbs or famous quotations highlight a passage. 2)进行德育渗透:有梦想,有目标,有能力,有毅力的人才能走向成功!Homework
