Book Report about Wuthering HeightsWuthering Heights tells us a tragedy which happened in two generations. Thanks to the author, we gain a happy ending at least.The story began with the old Earnshaw bringing a homeless child one evening. His son Hindley treated the poor boy Heathcliff badly, since he thought Heathcliff owed the love which should have belonged to him. But his daughter Catherine made good friends with Heathcliff, they knew each other well. However, everything changed after the old Earnshaw died. Hindley became the master and claimed Heathcliff to be a servant at Wuthering Heights. Then they met Linton and his sister. Because of the immature vanity, Catherine decided to marry Linton. Hearing this news, Heathcliff left without a word in an evening. Three years later, Heathcliff came back as a wealthy gentleman. In fact the rainstorm would begin quietly. Heathcliff tricked Hindley to get his possession of Wuthering Heights. He married Lintons sister for Thrushcross Grange. After their children all grew up, Heathcliff forced Linton and Catherines daughter to marry to his dying son. At last he inherited Thrushcross Grange as he wished and completed his revenge. However, he died lonely in a rainy evening. Hareton and Cathy, the loved couple lived together happily. In my opinion, the people who encounter the cruel treatment can be classified into two kinds. One tolerates everything, even without complement. The other is addicted to hatred, for example HeathcliffWhen he heard that his love accepting anothers proposal, he could do nothing but felt desperate. And he took it for granted to hate those who robbed his happiness in his opinion. The negative thoughts corrupted his heart. The strong spirits of revenge made him live continually. Obviously once the hatred covered the mans eyes, the man would try any way, even the devil way, to achieve his plan. He thought of him as the most misfortunate people in the world so that he ignored all the precious things around him. In fact, the emotion of the so called “hatred “is the result of people repeating their wound continually to remind themselves their unfair experience. Heathcliff was a child who was abandoned by his parents, so he knew the pain of lack of love from relatives clearly. But he separated Cathy from his father treated his own son as a tool to complete his revenge and robbed Haretons happy childhood. He made those children lose the right to enjoy the love and care from their parents. I think he doesnt deserve others any sympathy. On the contrary, some people have experienced unhappy life, but they knew the feelings well. To avoid the tragedy happening again, they tolerated, loved and cared for others. Theyd rather the hatred end than recycle in next generation.When Heathcliff finished his ugly revenge, his life became void. His motivation of continuing his life also finished. So he ended his live by himself. No one cried for his death, only the people love others can be remembered forever。The love between Heathcliff and Catherine make me feel pity. They should have been a happy couple and owed a family, but for their vanity and prejudice. No one else can part them except themselves. Once love is mixed with selfish thoughts, it will fade away. If Heathcliff and Catherine could have realized it earlier, the tragedy would not have happen. On the other hand, as far as I concerned, if you love someone deeply, you should wish he or she to have a happy life, no matter whom he or she live together with. It is the true love. And when we love somebody, maybe we should realize we love the one for who he or she is, not for what
