To help Ss further consolidate the methods and skills of writing summary of narrative(记叙文).2. To have Ss realize what a true friendship is by discussing about their experience of meeting their best friends in a team (and writing on the spot if time permits).3. To develop Ss awareness of cooperation and involvement by working in groups.Key points1. The consolidation of writing summary of narrative. 2. How to put what Ss have learned and experienced into their writing by means of some skills. Difficult pointsEncourage Ss to express their own opinions fluently in English to develop their communicative ability and awareness of cooperation in a team. Teachingaids:1. Meanwhile, hand out the materials.Read and understand whats displayed on the screen. And know what will be learned. It is designed to lead in the topic of this periodguided writing.Step II Guidance of summary writing Get Ss to read the passage and ask Ss to answer the questions: Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Summarize the skills of writing summary and join Ss in doing some oral practice. Afterwards, Students writing, teacher monitors their progress and offers some practical guidance. And then pick out one of the students works to make some comments.Read through the passage and circle the answers to the four questions and then share together. After that, Ss are asked to answer them one by one. Afterwards, they have a few minutes to finish the summary with the help of each other. More attention should be paid to the methods of writing summary. (15or so)The four questions focuses on their skills of writing summary. Much guidance is given to build up their confidence. (whenwherewhowhat happened(result) what to learn Step III Discussion in groups Show Ss the topic to discuss on the screen: How did you meet your best friend? How do you understand your friendship?Teacher joins Ss in talking about the topic. Discuss in groups and then report the result as representatives from some groups. (For this section, Ss have been told to get further information about it as homework, now heres just a check.) (10or so)To reduce some obstacles and make some preparations for their writing next step and improve their ability to communicate with others and develop their awareness of cooperation and involvement. .Step IV Finish the rest of the writing Walk around the classroom while Ss are writing and much help should be given to Ss if necessary. (Notes: Time permitting, teacher timely picks out one of the Ss works and makes comments together. If not, they are allowed to continue finishing the rest of writing after class as homework, it all depends.)Ss are required to finish the rest of the writing according to what they have discussed with help of the partners. (Call Ss attention to their handwriting, the written form and the time while writing.) (10or so)To develop Ss habit of finishing the writing on the spot within the limited time. Summary and assignment Summarize what Ss have reviewed in class today and for homework, ask Ss to exchange their works (after finishing the rest of their writing), make some comments on their partners works and grade them. On the day of my last exam, when I entered the exam hall I lost my confidence and I was really mad, because everything seemed very unclear to me. One of my classmates, Rosy, was sitting next to me. She gave a pleasing smile when she saw me. I have teased(取笑) her several times for being a reserved(沉默寡言的) person. I felt very embarrassed to sit next to her. We had 30 minutes for the exam to begin and she asked whether I had prepared well for the exam. I couldnt say anything, and I was about to cry. She gave a helpful look, which seemed as though she had realized my situation. Then she asked, “Can I help you and clear up your doubts, if you dont mind?” I was shocked and I agreed without hesitation and she explained many concepts(概念). When the exam was about to start, she patted my shoulder and said her “Best luck” to me. Her words gave me confidence. Rosys guidance helped me to do many problem in the exam. After I completed the exam, I thanked her for the timely help and encouragement. From that day we both became best friends. When the teacher announced that we both have got full marks i
