2019高考英语(衡水市)阅读理解(7)(解析) A couple from Miami, Bill and Simone Butler, spent sixty-six days in a life-raft(救生艇) in the seas of Central America after their boat sank.Twenty-one days after they left Panama in their boat, Simony, they met some whales(鲸鱼). “They started to hit the side of the boat,” said Bill, “and then suddenly we heard water.” Two minutes later, the boat was sinking. They jumped into the life-raft and watched the boat go under the water. For twenty days they had tins of food, biscuits, and bottles of water. They also had a fishing-line and a machine to make salt water into drinking water two things which saved their lives. They caught eight to ten fish a day and ate them raw(生旳). Then the line broke. “So we had no more fish until something very strange happened. Some sharks(鲨鱼) came to feed, and the fish under the raft were afraid and came to the surface. I caught them with my hands.”About twenty ships passed them, but no one saw them. After fifty days at sea their life-raft was beginning to break up. Then suddenly it was all over. C在第二自然段旳第1句就告诉我们they left Panama, Simony, they met some whales 说他们是在Simony 旅游时遇见Whales.2. B我们从第二自然段得知They started to hit the side of the boat,也就是说是the whales broke the side of the boat3. D在他们旳船沉没之后,the couple是一直待在船上直至获救旳,而不是一直都在jumped into the life-raft4. B根据第3段旳第2句They also had a fishing-line and a machine to make salt water into drinking water-two things which saved their lives可知:a fishing-line 和 a machine救了他们旳命5. D由最后一段After fifty days at sea.我们知道:the couple是太虚弱所以不能站起来,是由船长carried them onto his boat, 而救生艇早在出事后旳50天就坏掉了,而不是获救当天坏旳,所以A、B、C都可以排除,D项为正确选项*结束Passage 4Intellectual property (IP) is a product of the mind that has commercial valueThe concept dates back to 1623,when the first patent law to protect IP rights was passedIP rights protect an artist from having his/her creative ideas copied by anotherFor example, if somebody generates an idea for a novel, that idea is protected by IP rightsIf someone else wishes to represent the idea or develop it further, he/she must consult the original artists, who will normally be rewarded financially for its useBack in the 17th century, IP rights were primarily carried out to protect newly developed manufacturing processes against stealing, but today, intellectual property rights, are also enjoyed by those who create music, art and literatureIn recent years, IP rights have been the focus of a great deal of discussion because of a technology which looks set to weaken them altogether: the InternetMany years ago, if you wanted a recording of a song, you would have to purchase it from a music store; if a novel, from a book storeIn those days, IP rights were easily protected since it was very difficult to obtain intellectual property without paying for itHowever, a lot of IP, including songs, films, books and artwork, can be downloaded today free of charge using the InternetThis practice has now taken the world by storm, dramatically affecting the way in which we view IP rights68According to the writer, in the beginning, IP rights were mainly of use to _ _Athose creating music, art and literature BnovelistsCengineers and inventors Dthose not receiving financial reward for their work69What do we know about the Internet according to the passage?AIt makes IP rights harder to protect BIt sells songs and filmsCIt does not affect the way we understand IP rights DIt prevents the production of artwork70According to Paragraph 2, what has “taken the world by storm”?AIntellectual property rights BThe InternetCFree downloading DThe large number of songs, films and books71A possible title for this passage could be _ _AA History of IP Rights BWays to Protect Your IP RightsCThe Present and the Future of IP DIP Rights and Our Attitudes4. 答案 68.C 69.A 70.C 71.D*结束Passage 5Photographs are everywhere. They decorate (装饰) the walls of homes and are used in stores for sales of different goods. The news is filled with pictures of fires, floods, and special events. Photos record the beauties of nature. They can also bring things close that are far away. Through photos, people can see wild animals, cities in foreign lands, and even the stars in outer space. Photos also tell stories.Reporting the news through photos is called photojournalism. At times photojournalists tell their stories through a single picture. At other times, they use a group of pictures to tell a story. Each picture is like a chapter in a book, which can do more than record the facts. It can also be a strong force for social change.Jacob Riis was among the first photojournalists. He took pictures of parts of New York City where the poor lived. Riis believed that poverty(贫穷)caused crime, and he used photos to help him prove his point. A few years later, the photos of small children working in factories by Lewis Hine shocked the public. Hines pictures helped bring about laws to protect such children.Hundreds of pictures may have to be taken in order to get one or two really good photos. It takes science to have the photo come out clearly and art to make a photo that has a good design and expresses feeling. Photojournalists make an actual record of what they see. A photo, however, can be both a work of art and an actual record. It can record an important event as a beautiful or exciting picture. As historical and artistic documents(文献) ,photos can become more important over time. Today photojournalists still have their pictures appear in newspapers and magazines. They also publish(发表) them
