Introduce the six students.Aids: a picture and a recorderTeaching procedures:Step 1 Warming up activity.Step 2 Greetings and introduce themselves. We have many teachers in our classroom today. Can you greet them and introduce yourself.Step 3 Duty report.Step 4 Revision and Lead-in. T: We met six new friends. They are in Beijing Sunshine Secondary School. Who are they? Do you remember? S: Millie, Simon, Kitty, Amy, Sandy, Daniel ( picture ) T: Right. Look at the picture. Talk about them and review these words. ( wear, glasses, ponytail, bunch ) T: Are they tall or short? How old are they? What do they like? Do you know? Do you want to know? Lets read something more about them. Here are their profiles. Learn the new word “profile”.Step 5 Reading. 1. Read the passage quickly. Find out what they like doing. Finish Part D1, page6. 2. Check the answers. Ask and answer. What does Millie/ like? Write the answers on the blackboard. ( around the picture ) Learn the new words: dance, club 3. Read the passage again. Ask some more questions. Write something on the blackboard when they answer the questions. Learn the new words, too. ( flat, clever, be clever at, Maths, quite, come from, be born, work hard ) What are their Chinese names? How old are they? Where do they live? Who has a cousin? Whos tall? Whos short? Whos small? Do you know anything more about them?Step 6 Listening. Listen to the tape. Ask the students to read with it.Step 7 Part C, page5 Tell whether the statements True or False.Step 8 Practice. 1. Try to say something about the six students. Practice in groups. Then each group one student will come to the front and tell us something. 2. Say something about the six students.Step 9 A game. Whos my friend? Describe what he or she is like. Ask them to guess.Step 10 Homework.(1) To recognize the use of languge in giving personal information目的: 训练学生在阅读过程中发现问题和善于提问的能力、快速捕捉阅读信息的能力、阅读信息的强记能力以及运用能力。过程:Step1. Revision T: Hi! S: Hi! Listen and answer A Listen to the tape and answer some questions:(每一小段听两遍回答一个简单问题,交代任务及建议使用完成任务的方式,指导学生学会快速捕捉阅读信息),问题设计如下:1. Is Millie in the Reading Club?2. Where do Simons parents come from?3. Whats the meaning of “ black hair in a ponytail” ?4. How old is Zhang ke?5. What does Amy love doing?6. Does Daniel enjoy playing computer games? B Group work:1. 再听一遍磁带,同时让同学们找出自己不太理解的字、词、句。2. 小组活动:四人一组讨论一下各位同学找出的难点,然后每组将他们四人共同的难点报告给全班同学一起再讨论并由老师最终作出总结性的结论和解释。(老师要有多做准备,考虑到学生可能回提出的问题)例如:1) I was born there but we live in Beijing now.2) quite and very3) like/love/enjoy doing something like/love to do something4) the three profiles of my classmates5) 不可数名词 hair6) 三个V+ing 的不同形式 swimming dancing playing7) wear /in /put on的区别 C Game将所听到的六段个人简介中的外貌特征画出来(注意是单一的某个部位,比如:眼镜,马尾辫等),再准备一些各人的爱好的图片,让同学们将六个人的特征粘贴在图画上,将六段文字变成六张画像。(最好让学生们脱书来完成这个游戏,训练学生们对阅读信息的强记能力) D True or falseT: Now Ill give you some sentences.
