Unit5 Nelson Mandela- a modern heroReading-Elias story(Teaching Plan教案)教学背景分析教学内容:1.单元主题:本单元是人教版高中英语必修1 Unit5- Nelson Mandela-a modern hero 2.课堂内容:本节课是reading阅读课。是本单元的第2课时。在学习了本单元重点词汇和warming up热身讨论后,由老师引导,学生完成任务,训练阅读技巧,培养阅读和会话能力并提升对伟人的认知了解有什么样的人格的人才会是伟人,对学生可起到一定的启发作用,使他们能以这些伟人为榜样,并坚定信念,塑造自我,创造未来的阅读课。 3.内容分派:Lead-in运用多媒体技术展示曼德拉的简要人生介绍,让学生初步了解曼德拉并激发他们的学习兴趣。 Reading阅读部分分为四个任务(brief introduction; careful reading; discussion; role-play)引导学生完成,在这四个任务的完成中训练了学生的scanning和skimming。每环节分设任务让学生结组或者自由讨论完成。作业是让学生根据本堂课对曼德拉的学习讨论写一篇曼德拉的简介。教学方法: 采用任务驱动方法,在整个学习过程中,充分确立学生的主体地位,充分调动学生的学习积极性和主观能动性,强化学生的个性培养,注意在教学的各环节中创设“情景”加强“协作”“会话”,让学生主动积极获取知识,使其学会,会学,真正意义上成为学习的主人。1演示法:把相关曼德拉的图片、视频等展示给学生看,便于学生对人物背景知识的把握,并且激起学生的学习兴趣。2任务驱动教学法:将所要学习的知识隐含在一个或几个问题和小组活动之中,学生通过对所提的任务进行分析、讨论,并在老师的指导和帮助下找出解决问题的方法,最后通过任务的完成而实现对所学知识的意义建构。3多媒体辅助教学法:把关于曼德拉的人物图片、音频、视频等信息融合在课件中,可以增加课堂信息量的输入并发挥学生的多种感官的作用,激发学生学习兴趣,提高教学效率。学生情况:高一学生初高中过渡英语基础较弱,词汇量有限,在思想上高一学生对伟人的认知还有待提高。阅读课上培养他们的scaning和skimming技巧,在导学案中把重点难点词汇列出帮助学生理解,在阅读课上通过课文理解帮助学生树立信念。教学手段:导学案; 黑板;粉笔;教学课件技术准备: 多媒体Curriculum standard:Train the students abilities of skimming and scanning.Practice reading and speaking skill.Learn great qualities from Nelson Mandela.Knowledge and skills:(1) Improve students writing skills: scanning and skimming(2) Improve students speaking skills: brief introduction and role-play(3) The students can learn great qualities from Mandela.Process and methods:(1) Lead-inBefore guiding the students to reading a passage, help them to think about questions about Nelson Mandela.(2)ReadingAsking and answering activities to help the student to finish the tasks through individual, pairs or group work.Emotion, attitude and value :(1)To arouse the students curiosity and admiration about Mandela.(2)To develop the students sense of exploring.(3)To cultivate the students sense of cooperative learning in a group.教学重难点1. Play a song of beyond - Glorious yearsTeachers activity: inspire students interested in Nelson Mandela Qs: Have you heard this song ?Do you know the name of this song ?Do you know the meaning behind this song ?Students activity: enjoy the song and be interested in the meaning behind the Glorious years2. Enjoy a short video of Nelson MandelaTeachers activity: introduce Mandela briefly through a short videoT: How much do you know about this hero?Doyouwanttoknowmoreabouthim?Lets enjoy a short video about Nelson Mandela (After about three minutes)Students activity: enjoy the video about Mandela and talk about Mandela according to their knowledge T: This short video gives us a brief introduction about Mandela. Today we will learn a lot about Mandela from another person-Elias. What kind of person is Elias? And what happened between them?Purpose: 此环节设置是运用纪念曼德拉的歌曲和真实的视频激发学生学习兴趣,同时让学生对曼德拉的生平有一个简单的了解。Step2. Reading (33minutes) Task1.scanning (2minutes)Teachers activity: Ask students to read this passage as quickly as they can and finish the timeline about Elias1940: _ 1946: _1948: _ 1952: _ 1963: _Q: What is relationship between Elias and Mandela?(ppt) Students activity: finish the task individually and show the timelinePurpose: 训练学生的scanning阅读技巧和speaking组织语言的能力。Task2. Careful reading and competition(10minutes)Teachers activity:Ask students to read the passage carefully 1: Q: Why did Elias visit Nelson Mandela? (50 points) 2: T or F Elias trusted Nelson Mandela and he joined the ANC Youth League. (50 points)3. T or F Nelson Mandela thought violence was a good way to help black people. (50 points)4. Q: Did Elias like violence? Why did he help Mandela blow up some government buildings? (80points)5. The time _ I first met Nelson Mandela was a very difficult period of my life. (80points)6. We were put into a position in which we had either to accept we were less important, or fight the government. (100分)7. What can you learn from para3 and para4?(100 points) A. Elias has no right to vote at that time. B. Black people could choose where to live at that time. C. They decided to answer violence with violence at first. D. Black people could get the jobs they wanted at that time.Students activity: work in group to finish the task and compete with other groups.Purpose: 本环节训练学生的careful reading 技巧。任务完成是要求学生在阅读过程中可以讨论。competition的设置为了让激发学生的学习热情。Task3. Discussion(5 minutes)Teachers activity:Ask students to discuss the question about Mandelas qualities and arouse the students curiosity and admiration about Mandela.Q: What can we learn from the text about Nelson Mandela? Students activity: work in groups to discuss and summarize the qualities about Mandela.T: After you read the passage carefully and you have known a lot about text, what can we learn from the text about Nelson Mandela? Or we say what qualities does Nelson Mandela have? Try to find out the sentences which can express/describe the qualities of Mandela(Later) After discussion, teacher show the words about Mandelas qualities.1. Helpful 2. Brave 3. Warm-hearted 4.
