In my opinion, one of the biggest problems of transportation is traffic jams in Anyang city. It has become common to see passengers and drivers having to wait in long lines of buses and cars moving at a snails pace on the streets during the rush hours. There are several reasons for this problem. First, the number of vehicles is increasing much more rapidly than the building of roads. Second, there seem to be too many private cars and not enough public buses. Third, many people, including drivers, pedestrians and cyclists do not obey traffic rules properly, especially at busy intersections. In my opinion, one of the biggest problems of transportation is traffic jams in Anyang city. In view of the seriousness of this problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. On the one hand, the government should invest more money in the building of new roads and the repairing and maintenance of old ones, particularly those in busy areas of the cities. On the other hand, the number of private cars in urban areas should be limited while the number of public buses should be increased. At the same time, it is essential that stricter traffic rules and regulations be issued to strengthen traffic control.1) Compare the different transportation, such as between plane, train and car.Drive car to travel is convenient because we can set out at any time. But it is too slow and it may spend us much more time. Plane ticket is more expensive. So, I think train is the best transportation for me.2) Can you just image the transportation in the future and describe it for me?In the future, the speed of car, train and plane will be faster. And, the transportation will be easier and convenient.3) Just compare the transportation in the past and now? What transportation do you like and why?Nowadays, we have more choice on the transportation than the past. Such as tube, plane etc, even though in the small city. I like tube, because tube is safety and tube ticket is cheap. 131. Could you tell me something about the customs in China? ( 5 - 8 )Thats an interesting question. Allow me to explain myself by mentioning the following about some customs before a wedding. Firstly, it is considered very bad luck if the bride and the groom see each other directly before the wedding.132. How do Chinese people usually celebrate birthdays? ( 5 - 8 )We celebrate it by normally having a dinner party. The child receives gifts from his/her parents, family, and friends. When a child is one hundred days old, it marks a special occasion in his/her life. The mother will place a selection of objects on a table before him/her. S/he will be asked to pick one. The choice that the child makes will be an indication of what the child will become one day.133. Are there any special customs about weddings in your region? ( 5 - 8 )133. Describe a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony. ( 5 - 8 )Before the wedding day, the families would go to the place where the newlyweds will live, and fit curtains, and place a clock in the house. They would put coins and peanuts in the wedding bed. The coins are symbolic of a prosperous life together, and the nuts to ensure a mixture of boys and girls as children. On the day of the wedding, the groom and his best men will go to the house of the bride. They will ask permission from the bridesmaids to enter, who will insist on many answers and money. They will eat eggs and noodles and drink sweet rice water together. The party will then begin, and the presenter will declare them man and wife. 134. How have wedding ceremonies changed in recent years? ( 5 - 8 )There have been some changes. For example, in the past the brides mother-in-law would give the bride a basin and a ring. These days flowers replace it, which the bride will wear in her hair on the wedding day. Secondly the gifts have become more expensive. For example, the brides family would give appliances like a TV or washing machine to the couple. Another example would be that in the past, peanuts were placed in the wedding bed to ensure a mixture of boys and girls as children. With the one-child policy in force, this tradition will probably disappear. In addition, the ceremonies have become much more informal. For example, the wedding party would be held at a restaurant as opposed to a house. 1. whats your name?my name is Wangjun, but you can call me Tom as well./you can just call me Tom.Yes, my father gave me this name with great expectation. Good afternoon. Im very well. Thank you. And you? Pleased to meet you. I beg your pardon. What exactly would you like to know? Perhaps I can begin by telling you about Recently, Ive been studying at Recently, Ive been working at Ive been studying English for (1 year). The reason Im taking the test is because Would you like to know about ? Before that I studied at Before that I worded at At the moment Im studying at At the moment Im working at Have I answered your question? Is there anything else you wish to know? 说成“I am come from Guangzhou。” Qualities of Friends: Q: What do you think are the most important qualities for friends to have? 构思: 信任 trust 真诚 sincerity loyalty 帮助, 原谅 helpful forgiving 尊重彼此隐私: respect privacy 一直坚守在朋友左右: available, be there Answer: I think a good friend is always someone who trusts you and can be trusted. And this person should show sincerity in this friendship and be always loyal to you. Life is full of ups and downs, and when youre down, hes always there to give you a hand. Sometimes we get emotional and unreasonable under pressure, and to be a good friend, we need to learn to understand this and forgive the other person is he or she yells at you or takes out the aggressive feeling on you. But most importantly, good friends always respect the privacy of each other. Its true that youre closer to me than others. But still, youre you, Im me. Theres a famous Chinese saying, “Familiarity breeds contempt.” So keeping a reasonable distance is imperative to a healthy friendship. (144 words) Q: Which are more important to people, their family or their friends? Why? Answer: I think to a large degree, they are equally important to me. Its like asking me which one is more important between water and air. Family is important to a person because when the world ends, your family is still behind you. Family members provide you unconditional love and support. On the other hand, friends can offer you different kind of help. Because you grow up together, so you have a feeling they really get you. And friends never nag at you. So when youre with your friends, youre more relaxed. (90 words) Q: What do you think causes friendships to break up? 构思: dishonesty trust crisis outgrow your friends loss of common language Answer: I guess the reason why most friendships break up is because people lose trust in each other. Maybe theres a case of dishonesty where one person lies to another. And then they feel its no longer working out anymore. Another reason is that maybe one of the two friends grow too fast and develop too rapidly so he feels that he has outgrow his friend in many ways and he doesnt know how to be with him anymore. The loss of common language also causes a friendship to break up. Purpose of festivals and celebrations Q: Why do you think festivals are important events in the working year? Answer: Yeah. Its very important for two reasons. For the country, its a time to remember our cultural origin and our historical past. The whole country celebrates our root and its very inspiring. We become so proud of our past. I guess thats why festivals are important. For the individual, festivals give us a chance for relaxation as we often have a few days off. Its a time of fun, meeting friends, entertainment. So after that we feel like a new man. In a sense, holidays restore our balance between work and leisure. Thats also why we need festivals for China. Q: Would you agree that the original significance of festival is often lost today? Answer: I think the original significance for festivals are to celebrate our tradition. Its an end to the old year and the beginning of a new year. So its a connecting day. But today, people are so busy, theyre under so much pressure and they no longer feel the transition between the old and the new year. Some companies even ask their employees to come in on holidays. So many people begin to feel that festivals are just as common as the other days. People no longer take the opportunities of festivals to honor their tradition, but go shopping, go to restaurant to entertain instead. So I think tradition is out, consumption is in. Festivals provide people such an excuse to put down their work, to spend money and be extravagant (奢侈的), and to meet people that they dont have time for during the working year. So in this sense, even the original significance is lost, festivals are still exciting. (163 words) Q: Do you think that new festivals will be introduced in the future? What kind? Answer: The world is changing so fast. People are embracing new lifestyles as East and West come together. Westerners begin to eat dumplings with chopsticks to celebrate Chinese Spring Festival. And Chinese young people exchange chocolates and roses on Valentines day. So, you see? People are experimenting with new life patterns. And its quite possible that new festivals may be invented or introduced. Wouldnt that be cool? What kind? Well, I dont know for sure because its the future right? But I heard this year, in my country, some people celebrated the mens day, which is on August the third. Its dorky. (书呆子) But its new and exciting, right. Will it last? I dont know. All I know is that this is an interesting attempt. Describe an interesting animal. You should say: what animal it is where it lives (or, you have seen it) what it looks like and explain your feelings about this animal. The Beauty - Mandarin ducks I happened to meet the Mandarin Ducks over the years in the wild area of Ampere Garden, in ponds along the big drainage. And, Im 100% sure they were not normal Ducks. It was in the wild and free to fly off whenever it wanted to! The male mandarin duck is way more colorful, his breast is purple with two vertical white bars and the flanks ruddy, with two orange “sails” at the back. The female is similar to female Wood Duck, all dark green brown. Male Mandarin ducks are considered by many to be the most beautifully colored of all waterfowl. In China, the mandarin duck is associated as a Chinese weddings symbol, because it symbolizes wedded bliss and fidelity. A Chinese proverb for loving couples uses the Mandarin Duck as a metaphor: “Two mandarin ducks playing in water”. Mandarin ducks are always depicted in a pair it is said that if the ducks were separated, they would pine for each other and die of loneliness. Dying of loneliness for love might only be a romantic myth and a cheerful reflection of peoples attitude to reality. Anyway, I love these lovely creatures; I wish I could raise one.需要掌握的词汇: drainage: (河流的)流域, 排水区 vertical: 纵向的 ruddy: 红色的 waterfowl: 水鸟,水禽 wedded bliss: 婚姻美满 fidelity: 忠贞 depict: 描绘 myth: 神话备选内容: where it lives (or, you have seen it) Not at a zoo. This little beauty (and its mate) had unexpectedly flown into a countryside park that I happened to be visiting. what it looks like The adult male is a striking and unmistakable bird. Mandarin duck is known as a perching duck and prefers more of a wooded atmosphere, but it also must have a pond along with that. and explain your feelings about this animal. Mandarin Ducks form a strong attachment to their partners; hence, they are also an emblem of conjugal fidelity. A pair of Mandarin Ducks is excellent symbols for keeping love alive. Mandarin Ducks, which are referred to by the Chinese as Yuan-yang (simplified Chinese: 鸳鸯; traditional Chinese: 鸳鸯; pinyin: yun yng), are frequently featured in Oriental art and are regarded as a symbol of conjugal affection and fidelity. Love at first sight these mandarin ducks are seen to be deeply absorbed in each other, emitting a feeling of intense and true love. Mandarin ducks are potent symbols of love, affection, fideli
