April Fools Day单位:牡丹江市第十一中学年级:初二年级一、教材和教学目的分析1、教材的地位和作用 本节课的中心话题是谈论愚人节。2教学内容 本节课的教学任务是谈论愚人节,提出各种庆祝愚人节的方式,并让学生进行讨论和角色扮演,说出一些他们自身的经历,在进行大量的课堂口语训练的同时做出适当评价,培养学生一定的是非价值观念。3、教学目标的确立及依据基础教育阶段英语课程的任务是:激发和培养学生的学习兴趣,发展自主学习的能力和合作精神,形成一定的综合语言运用能力,形成健康的人生观,为他们的终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。结合本节课在教材中的地位、作用及学生的情况,我制定以下教学目标:1) 知识目标: A. 学习重点词汇:joke, celebrate, celebration, announcement. B. 掌握提出表示愚人节祝福的句型;2) 能力目标: A. 了解愚人节的来历和日期;B. 学会简单地表达自己曾经的经历和愚人节祝福语。3) 情感目标:通过实践让学生体验集体生活的快乐,通过小组活动,练习愚人节及祝福的口语,提出不同的庆祝方式并了解风俗习惯。4、重难点的确立及依据根据英语课程标准、本单元特点及学生现状,我将本单元重难点确立如下:1) 教学重点:进一步巩固表达自身经历的口语练习。2) 教学难点:学会使用提出祝福语的句型,并能根据具体情况进行应用。在谈论在愚人节那天自身经历的同时,学会在团队中生活学习,感受集体力量中的快乐时光。二、教学方法分析由于初二学生已经具备了一定的听、说、读、写能力,所以本节课主要强调学生的小组谈论意识和角色扮演活动。教学环节中角色扮演的课堂活动,使学生在巩固所学知识的同时,理解课堂所学关于愚人节的知识,从而达到本节课的情感态度目标。多媒体辅助教学贯穿于整个教学过程,增加了直观性和趣味性,加大了课堂密度,也提高了学生的学习兴趣和整节课的教学效果。三、教学流程【具体教学步骤】 教 学 步 骤Step 1 Greeting and Lead-inT: Good morning, students.Ss: Good morning.Share a joke in Chinese with students a story and ask them who these two angles are in this story.Step 2 Presentation of April Fools DayT: Today we will learn April Fools Day together.Tell students the origin of April Fools Day.Step 3 T: Now we knew the story about the origin of April Fools Day. Who can tell me how much information you know about April Fools Day?S: T: OK, Lets see together.Tell students story about “April Fool” and some information about April Fools Day.T: Maybe you are right, but different countries have different custom.Tell students “When is Mothers Day in different countries?”T: I have a question for you. In China, When is Mothers Day this year?S: May 12th.T: If you can use some words to describe your mother, what will you use?S: T: In your words, I can see that you all love your mothers very much, yes?Ss: Yes.T: I think your mother also loves you. Lets see some pictures of mothers love.Show students pictures of mothers love.T: Mothers love is the greatest love. Mama always said so many to you. Now enjoy a song: Mama Said.Listen to the song by Declan Galbraith.T: Motherhood is the greatest love. How is the greatest? Let us continue to see motherhood.Show students that motherhood is the greatest love step by step.T: Mother is one of the most important persons for me. What about you?S: T: How many letters are there in the word “mother”?Ss: 6 letters.T: What are they?Ss: They are M-O-T-H-E-R.T: Every letter has different special meanings. Do you know them?Show them different special meanings of letters in the word “mother”.“M” is for the million things she gave me.“O” means only that shes growing old.“T” is for the tears she shed to save me.“H” is for her heart of purest gold.“E” is for her eyes with love-light shining.“R” means right and right shell always be.T: A famous writer, Howard Johnson, has said that “Put the five letters all together, they spell “MOTHER” A word that means the world to me.” In China, we also have some pomes to describe mother, for example, “慈母手中线,游子身上衣。”T: When Mothers Day coming, what will you do for your mother? T: On Mothers Day, How people celebrate for mother?Tell students the celebration of Mothers Day.When learning the celebration of Mothers Day, there exist some new words.Present new words in different ways such as pictures, Chinese translation and so on.Step 4 DiscussingT: From them, what do you learn from it?S: T: Mothers love is the greatest love. Mothers love is the safest love. No matter you are happy or depressed, rich or poor, mothers love will always be with you.T: What have you do for your mother on Mothers day?S: Show them pictures that describing what they have do.Step 5 Writing cards in groupT: Everyone has his/her special mother. On this special day, lets say “I love you, mom.”Make students work in group. 4 or 6 every group. Give students cards to make them write.
