Constitution of Asian Talent ClubWhy and WhenThe purpose of an organizational constitution is to build relatively complete capabilities for IU students, not only having high GPAs but improving the ability to live alone and more independently on campus, such as cooking, haircut, makeup skills and communication skills with foreign friends that we do and meet in daily lives. We are now at the age of transforming to adults from children. Besides academic improvements, we still need to learn many living skills to take care of ourselves in a different country without parents. For many Asian and other overseas students, studying at Indiana University may be the first time that they leave parents and live a live on their own. We need a variety of related activities to enrich ourselves and be ready to face the world. Our club holds one general meeting and one workshop every month. We will have different skills to discuss in each workshop, informing in advance through email list. Members can learn the skills and in the following workshop, they can apply the skills.WhatThe aimed people are especially Asian students and other students who are interested in East Asian cultures and living skills. Our organization is different from others, since we are not just focusing on creating a networking. We want every student at IU to be ready in life, not just for school and career. Our organization will introduce daily skills with Chinese styles, such as hand-made crafts, cooking, haircut, hair design, makeup, and interpersonal communication skills. We will also hold info sessions about kitchen tools, restaurants, shopping malls, and US online websites to freshmen who just got here and other students.
