口语试题(time: 2-3 minutes)Directions for pair work: (两人组口试题)Work with your partner. One of you will take the part of A, and the other B. Make up short conversations based on the following situations, using appropriate expressions from textbooks. Situation 1. Student A and B are new students and meet on campus. They introduce themselves to each other and have an interesting conversation about their families, majors, hobbies and their dreams. Situation 2. Student A is a new student and gets lost on campus and asks Student B, a sophomore, the way to the library. The latter happens to go to the same place. On their way to the library, they talk about what the college life is. Situation 3. Last night Student A and B had a quarrel because Student A played the radio too loud and Student B was annoyed and couldnt concentrate on the homework. Later they realize that they were wrong. When they meet again in the morning, they apologize to each other and become good friends again. Situation 4. Student A and Student B are roommates. Student A tells Student B that he had spoken to his mother rudely last week. Now he regrets it. Student B understands Student As feeling because of a similar experience. Student B suggests that Student A should apologize to his mother at once. Situation 5. Student A fails in the exam and is sad and distressed. Student B is offering gentle words of comfort and encouragement. Student A thanks Student B for kindness and good wishes and accepts the latters offer of help. Situation 6. A is a foreign teacher and B is her or his student. After an interesting talk about English learning, B invites A to attend their New Years party. A accepts Bs invitation with great pleasure. Situation 7. Student A is interested in one kind of sports. Student A and B are talking about the advantages and disadvantages. Student A invites B to join him but B declines As invitation. Situation 8. Student A and B hold different ideas about mixed marriage. They are talking about the benefits and challenges mixed couples would meet. Situation 9. Student A and B are classmates. Student A is a basketball/football (or else) player, and his team won the first prize in a basketball tournament. Student B congratulates A on the success and A shares his/her experience in training. Situation 10. B accepts As invitation with great pleasure while C has to reject it for some reason. Situation 7. Student A, B are interested in sports, but C is not fond of it. They are talking about the advantages and disadvantages of exercises. Besides, A and B are making an exercise plan and invites C to join them.Situation 8. A is a 25-year-old Chinese girl who is dating with an American boy. She tells her parents about their marriage plan. B is As father who is strongly against it. C is the girls mother who begins to accept her daughters idea. They are having a family meeting on this issue. Situation 9. Student A is a senior student in the university. Recently he has received an offer from a university in USA. Also, he got a job in a famous company in China. He is asking for advice from his two classmates B and C, who are giving opposite suggestions. Situation 10. A and B are good friends. They are going to rent a house in this city and they are talking about different houses available in the advertisement. At last they choose one.
