Maybe you should check the address. 你昨天发的邮件被退回来了。你是不是应当查查地址是否正确。迟到相关表达 如果上班迟到了,怎么办呢?首先要端正态度,向主管或者老板诚恳地道歉。之后再解释迟到的原因。 Im awfully sorry.我真的非常抱歉。May I offer my profoundest apologies?向您表达我最诚恳的歉意。I got stuck in traffic.我路上堵车了。 I was tied up with some urgent business.我刚才有点急事。闲谈有关表达闲谈(small talk),并不是漫无目的地聊天,而是为了正式会谈而打破僵局(break the ice)的一种谈话方式。 Hey, its such a lovely day isnt it?今天天气不错哦。 How do you like Beijing so far?你觉得北京怎么样?Lets get down to business, shall we?让我们开始谈正事吧。怎样和朋友寒暄 很多人可能认为最流行的是wats up man之类的,其实这种说法实际听到的并不多。如果有人这么说,恐怕倒是有点要耍酷的样子。我有几个黑人朋友,超级爱唱rap,他们就会这么说,可能是唱歌的后遗症,哈哈。基本上我听到wats up的几次都是从黑人嘴里听到的,还是很小的一部分黑人会这么讲最常见的说法是how are you doing?前面加上对方的名字,可以说hey Matt,how r u doing?一般来说hey显得比较亲近,而hi就比较生疏一些,不过也更加礼貌一些。这时候回答可以说:Im good或者更加省略地说good,说完之后可以反问how are u doing?如果想要和别人交朋友,一定要反问,不要只回答一下就算了。同样回答别人的问题的时候,也不要只说一个yes 或者 no否则别人会觉得你有不是很想要搭理的意思。 也有另外的说法,比如hows everthing 或者 hows the day goes?这些并不那么顺口,但是也时时可以听到。回答hows everthing可以说good 或者not bad。回答hows the day goes可以说smooth或者pretty good。比较随意。 有时候也可能会听到good day作为开门见山的问候。一般服务生说得很多。这时候可以不用回答,也可以说一声hi之后就告诉对方需要办什么事情。 如果对方介绍你和某人认识,可以在握手的时候说出自己的名字。比如Tim和James认识了,两个人握手的时候只要说Time和James就算介绍了。然后可以说how are u doing之类的来问候,也可以省略不说。当要道别的时候,可以说:James, i gotta go. nice meeting you或者nice talking to you。然后可以加上一些寒暄的话,比如have a niceday或者take care. have a nice day简直可以算得上北美最流行的道别寒暄了。几乎任何场合任何时 间都可以用。当然如果天很晚了,也可以改成have a good night,但是基本上没有必要区分的那么清楚。take care也很常用,大概相当于中文保重的意思。bye,have a nice day和take care甚至都可以叠加在一起用。 不过叠在一起女生用的明显比男生多,可能男生觉得说那么多话不够酷吧。如果在路上偶遇朋友,而对方正好要去餐厅之类的,可以说enjoy ur breakfast/lunch/dinner。一般来说如果对方告诉了你下一步他要去做什么,一定要说一些针对那个活动的寒暄。如果对方要去party或者玩乐的地方,可以先说cool,赞叹一下,然后分别的时候说have fun或者enjoy it。总结一下,和对方说话一定要多说两句,不要只回答对方的问题,除非当时时 间紧张比如急着要去上学,这种情况下说一下hi就匆匆走掉的情况也是很多的,大家心知肚明就可以了。另外如果对方告诉了你他要去做什么或者说了自己碰到的事情,一定要就这个事情发表一下意见,不要当作没有听见。记住这两点,是交朋友的起点。房间预订 很多时候为了保成工作,人们出差前都是要打电话预订宾馆房间的,本期节目就让大家了解一下如何进行房间预订(room reservation)。Id like to reserve a single room for three nights from March 5.我想在三月五日订一个单人房间,住三天。 I want to take the one with a front view.我想要一个朝阳的房间。 Id like a quiet room away from the street.我想要个不临街的安静房间。 Ok, Ill take it.好吧,我就订这个房间了。Hotel check in入住酒店当你做好Room reservation房间预订;就可以Hotel check in入住宾馆了;When you get to the hotel当你进了宾馆After filling some information填完表格The staff will give you the key card. 工作人员就会给你一张房卡Key card is not a real key. 这不是真的钥匙,而是可以做房门钥匙的一张卡。如果宾馆的服务够好,他们会告诉你:Breakfast included and thats the extra thing you get with the room.房费含早餐,这是附加于房间的额外服务。And this no need for you to pay for your breakfast.你就不需要再为早餐付费。Of cause I think that has already been included in you room price.当然我认为它已经包含在你的房费里了。交待完这些后,你可能会听到一句:The porter will take your bag up to room.服务生会把你的行李拿到房间去,But they are not only carrying things. 但他们不光是搬运行李.He also show you the room.他们还会向您介绍房间。You have to tip them after. 你要为他们提供的服务付小费。当然各国的情况不一样。In America is about 5$ I think.在美国小费标准约5美元。 身处职场的我们会议是肯定少不了的了。如果你可以主持一次会议呢,就一定要抓住这个机会,在老板面前好好秀一下自己的英语哦。那么今天为大家带来的主持会议可以用到的英语。 I would like to express my welcome to all of you. 欢迎大家的到来。 Get going, shall we?咱们开始吧。 Lets welcome Mr. Smith to say something about this issue.让我们欢迎史密斯先生就这个问题谈谈吧。 I think weve done the consensus. If you havent started working yet you can say Right now Im still a student. or Im a recent grad and Ihavent started working yet. In fact, they ask this to know how you respond to a difficult question. You shouldnt answer by telling your greatest weakness since you might not get the job!
