Unit 4 Where is my school bagBackground information: Students in that age is quick in thought and they are easy to be absent-minded, so the teacher should make them focus on the class.Teaching objectives:1. Knowledge objectives:To enable the students to know the new words and sentence patterns To enable the students to get the main idea 2. Skill objectives:To enable the students to describe the position of things and apply it in the real life 3. Affective objectives:Students will learn to help each other in groups and cooperate actively with others to complete task Teaching focus: Make students understand how to use the special question lead by how and the method of how to express by means of location.Teaching difficulties:To express some sentences like: where is XXX , it is in/on/under XXX ,The words to express by means of prepositions of place: in, on, underTeaching methods:1. Task-based Language Teaching Teaching aids:Blackboard PPTTeaching procedures:Step1 Warming upReview the sentence patterns learnt last class ( this is ,these are ,that is, Its is, those are )Lead in the topic this class Step 2 Vocabulary LearningPresent the pictures of new wordsRead all the words to studentsUse the new words into the sentences learnt last class Let the students know the difference between the single form and plural formMatch the words with things in the pictureStep3 phrase learningTeacher present the picture and tell Ss. “It is in/on/under the box”Step4 Sentences LearningGive students some pictures and examplesShow the pictures and ask students about sentence pattern Show the difference between singular form and plural formHelp students to distinguish where is my/your/his/her _? Step 5 Practice1. Draw picturesTask 1: Ask some students to turn around and show the picture to the others. The students who see the picture should describe it to those who do not. They should use the prepositions in/on/under to describe the position of things in the picture2. Filling the Blanks Task 2: Show them a picture and a few sentences with some words missing, and they need to fill the blanks according to the picture 3. Practice in real lifeTask3: Hide something and students need to ask “Is it on/in/under _?” Teacher can only answer Yes or No. Students need to keep asking until they find the thing. Step 6 Homework1.
