Teaching plan for Unit 1 book1Good morning, everyone! Its my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. Ill be ready to begin this lesson from five parts: analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, the analysis of students and studying methods, the teaching procedure, and blackboard design. First, let me talk about the teaching material.Part The analysis of the teaching materialAnalysis of the position of the lessonThe lesson is the reading part of unit one Friendship titled Annes best friend which is taken from New Senior English for China Students Book1. In this passage, we can know Annes best friend is a diary and make the students realize the importance of friendship. As we all know, reading belongs to the input during the process of the language learning. The input has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing. So its the bedding of the whole unit. If the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit. According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), after studying the teaching material I think the teaching aims are the followings:Teaching Aims:Knowledge aims: ss can grasp some useful words and expressions about friendship in this passage.Ability aims: 1. The students will further improve their reading ability and let them learn to use some reading strategies such as skimming, scanning etc .2. ss can improve their ability of cooperating with others to finish the task. Emotional aim: the students can realize the importance of friendship and value the friendship. And students can tell true friends from false friends;Important Points: How to the grasp the main idea and find the required information Difficult Points:. How to form their idea and express themselves in English Well, how to achieve the teaching objects better, how to stress the important points and break through the difficult points? We should choose proper teaching methodsPart Teaching methods and teaching aids The modern teaching demands the teacher improve the students ability. A good teaching method requires that the teacher should guide the students rather than pour the knowledge to them so this class is a student-centre class. The following teaching methods and aids help to achieve the teaching aims1. Task-based teaching method as a guide line is applied to the design 2Communicative method, including asking and answering method, discussing method 3Visual-teaching method including picture-showing Teaching aids: . Multimedia . the blackboardPART 3 Analysis of the Ss and learning methods.As for the learning methods, ss are poor in cooperative learning skills. As senior students, they have a certain ability to read. Ss are familiar with the topic. But they lack vocabulary. They dont often use English to express themselves and communicate with others. Some Ss are not active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes. Therefore, Ill have Ss study in a relaxed atmosphere. . Knowing how to learn is more important than acquiring a lot of knowledge. So I will focus on guiding them instead of pouring a lot of knowledge to them. Ill try my best to train them with some effective reading skills such as skimming scanning predicting and so on by various exercises. That is to say, Ss will learn by practicing and Cooperative learning PART 4 Teaching procedures According to New Course Standard of English, Combining with the language level of Ss. I design the following teaching activities to reach the objectives above.Step1 pre-reading lead in(5 mins) In order to arouse the Ss interests and motivation of English study. I show some pictures on the screen, ask them to find out what they are all about . Through this activity, Ss can easily get involved in one topic of the lesson friend ship Then Ss answer the question What do you think a good friend should be like? List the good qualities a good friend should have . Have you ever considered making friends with animals, plants or even an object? Why or why not? Theyll have a brain storm and give their answers actively. Step2 While-reading(23mins) Task 1 skimming I will ask Students to read the title of the passage and observe the pictures and the outline of it to guess: Who is Annes best friend?Than Ask Ss to go through the passage quickly and find out : How many parts are there in the passage ? What are they? One part is the background of Anne and Annes diary, the other part is about one page of Annes diary.This step can help Ss to get a general idea of the text. Task 2 scanning I will ask students to Scan the passage quietly and individually and find out the answers to the questions on the screen. Then, asking four students to show their answers on the blackboard. The task requires the Ss to find the detailed information quickly. It helps the Ss understand the whole passage well.The time of the story (When)The place of the story(Where)The heroine of the story(Who)Annes best friend (What)The length of time they hid away(How)The reason Annes family hid away(Why) Task 3 careful-reading I will ask students to read the passage carefully again to finish 3 exercises including match/ multiple choices and filling in the blanks. They will work in groups of 4 and have a competition. I think proper competition can arouse the Ss interest in English learning. The task is designed to help Ss to get more details from the context. Ss will benefit from it. It can develop their ability of inference based on the information in the text. Ss ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.1 Read the passage and join the correct parts of the sentences.1)Anne kept a diary because A She could nt meet her friends.2) She felt very lonely because B Jews were caught by Nazis and killed.3) They had to hide because C She could tell everything to it.4) Anne named her diary Kitty because D She wanted it to be her best friend.2. Frightening and unsafe3 fill in the blanksTimeNatureAnnes feelingBefore hidingAfter hiding Task 4 further reading Ss work in pairs to complete the following passage with some important words or phrases. A top student will do the modeling work. Then I will give another student a chance to perform. Ss can consolidate what they have learnt and have a better understanding of the passage. Whats more, they can learn the words much better.Step3 Post-reading free talk (9 mins)Do you think the friendship is very important to you? Why or why not?Most Ss can take their parts in the activities, especially for the Ss who have trouble in English study. Without doubt, this will encourage them to speak English This step leads to the emotion al aims of this lesson that is to have moral education in this step. Step4Assignment 1 Write a short story about Annes life of hiding away.2 Tick out sentences that you think are difficult for you. It is necessary for the Ss to do some exercises after class to master the knowledge they learned. This asssignment is an extension of the previous lesson, to meet the needs of increasing communicating demand of some Ss.Part 5 Blackboard Design. Annes best friendThe time of the story (When)The
