Part B Lets read.教材版本: PEP Primary English 六年级下册授课时间: 40分钟一、教材分析How tall are you?是学生们最感兴趣的话题之一。它与人们的日常生活息息相关,拥有很大的发挥空间。本单元中心话题是询问身边的人或事物的年龄、身高、重量及长度并做比较。内容也涉及自然博物馆中不同种类恐龙的比较,动物园里猴子的比较以及不同种类鲸的比较。本节课的内容是六年级下册第一单元How tall are you? 第六课时Lets read, 通过前五个课时的学习,学生掌握了一些关于年龄、身高、重量及长度等形容词的比较级形式,如 taller, stronger, older, shorter, younger, heavier, thinner, longer, bigger, smaller并能熟练运用句型: How tall are you? Im 164 cm tall. Youre 4 cm taller than me. Which monkey is stronger? The brown monkey is stronger. How heavy are you? Im 48 kg. Im thinner than you, and shorter. 本节课作为本单元的最后结束课程,在一定程度上起着扩展学习的作用。结合课文主题:对sperm whale and killer whale的比较,我拓展了blue whale andbottlenose dolphin的学习,设计了Good eyes比赛活动找出两种鲸之间的不同点环节,以本课阅读为主,两篇课外阅读为辅,不但丰富了主题教学资源,增大了学习容量,还充实了教学形式,使学生把知识学习和能力真正联系起来。二、学生分析本课的教学对象是六年级的学生,他们已经学习了六年多的英语,学生基础较好,能较熟练地运用简单的日常用语。他们对英语还保持着浓厚的兴趣。学生活泼好动,学习积极性高,接受知识快,表现欲望强,富有想象力和创造力,合作意识强,自主学习探索能力强。学习本课前,学生已经熟练运用长度和重量单位描写人、物或动物的身高、长度和体重等,如“Im 160 cm tall. Im 50 kg.”并能借助长度及重量单位进行比较,如“Youre 4 cm taller than me.”如何更全面地对相同领域的不同事物进行深入地比较描述,这是学生在本节课的学习困难。三、教学目标:(1)知识目标1. 能够读懂Lets read的内容。2. 能听、说、认读单词:squid, lobster, shark, seal, whale和单位词ton, kg, meter, cm; 及句子:can dive into the deep cold water, jump out of water, each up to 20cm long3. 能根据Lets read部分的内容完成Fill in the blanks的练习。通过学习,学生能够掌握鲸的相关知识,用自己的语言准确地比较各种鲸的差异。4. 知识重点:让学生能理解、会读语篇内容,并能正确理解几个单位词:ton, meter, kg, cm。难点:根据语篇能用自己的语言准确地比较各种鲸的差异。(2)能力目标1. 通过学习,学生掌握相关的阅读技巧,正确理解文章内容。2. 通过课文阅读,扩展阅读以及口头表达,学生能够提升用英语对事物进行比较的能力。(3)情感态度目标引导学生关注自然界中与我们共同生活的其它生命,如珍惜动物鲸的生存现状。(4)文化目标数学及其他自然科学许多计算单位都来自相关英文单词的缩写。学好英语有利于促进其他学科知识准确认识。(5)学习策略目标学生能通过小组合作学习,影视欣赏,猜动物游戏,填写表格分析数据、比较等方式,与同学老师交流学习;能够运用阅读中的Predicting(预测),Scanning(快速浏览),Intensive reading (精读)等阅读技巧,正确理解文章内容,获得相关知识;能够运用所学的知识及阅读技巧,指导相关话题的拓展阅读,围绕Differences between a blue whale and killer whale的话题进行比较,进行口头有意义的语言输出。四、教学策略目标本节课借助多媒体,图片,听说,游戏,填写表格,比较等方法创设教学情景,以学生为主体,注重学生阅读能力的培养,加以任务型教学,调动学生的学习积极性,让学生合作,自主,愉快地学习,通过阅读,分析、比较等活动,在宽松愉快的心理氛围中达到学习效果。五、教学流程Pre-reading: Brainstorm Looking and saying First reading: guessing game Scanning Predicting Filling in the table Second reading Third reading Post reading Moral education Assigning homework六、教学过程:Steps/ TimeTeachers ActivitiesStudentsActivitiesPurposes1. Pre-reading - Look and say(2 minutes)Show the colorful fish and invite Ss to compare them.Talk about the fish with the sentence structure: is bigger than etcReviewing the sentence structure about comparative degree.3. First reading - Guessing game(3 minutes)Show the pictures about the new words mostly covered, and then invite Ss to guess what it is.Guess what sea animal it is according to the pictures mostly covered.Helping Ss learn the new words.4. First reading - Scanning(1 minutes)1. Ask Ss to guess what sea animal it is according to the short story. 2. Give Ss 20 seconds for them to scan the text and find out the answer.1.
