Job DescriptionDiagnosis Technician ASCAObjective of Job Systematically carrying out complex fault diagnosis, monitoring of the repair process, carrying out final checks. Support of colleagues in the workshop in systematic fault diagnosis. Documentation of the results of the diagnosis. Informing of colleagues in the workshop on technical innovations and communication of important information regarding fault diagnosis.Support Workshop Manager to optimize diagnosis procedures to increase productivity and ability to solve even difficult diagnosis cases. Has a command of English as a second language.Vehicle and Product Technology Excellent and detailed system knowledge of automotive vehicles, vehicle service, vehicle repair and vehicle diagnosis. Knowledge of the structure, function and networking of systems, components, major assemblies, etc. in combination with other systems. Very good background in vehicle electronics and data bus systems. Good knowledge of telecommunications, software handling, IT networks and menu structures. Can operate all current equipment and systems or he must adopt it. Knows all maintenance test and adjustment operations or can quickly acquaint himself with them.Diagnostic Competence Can create and document complex diagnosis, particularly with networked systems, and can provide this information with professional commentary to second level support. Can independently develop alternative diagnosis pathways when standard procedures and techniques do not achieve their goal, and implement these alternatives on the basis of existing complaints using competently and precisely selected testing and diagnosis equipment. Can use new diagnosis approaches and equipment and can assess their efficiency. Can instruct and support maintenance and systems technicians and, in the individual case, the Service Advisor on diagnosis and troubleshooting operations. Recognizes when further diagnosis steps will be inefficient and is qualified to clarify difficult cases with diagnosis experts.Method and Process Competence Can organize internal knowledge transfer. Very good knowledge of the procedures and key persons in the operation, contact persons, contacts for relevant customer support areas / external service providers. Basic knowledge of DC service structure and processes. Self-reliant planning and organization of diagnosis and work steps in workshop procedure using the current workshop information and management systems. Good background in MS Office and Intranet/Internet applications. Act with good commercial sense. Basic knowledge of quality control loops and processes.Job Designation/Field of Work:Task DescriptionMain Tasks1Diagnosis Systematic, professional and complex diagnosis of the vehicle using corresponding diagnostic tools, methods and facilities. Arranged by the service advisor, communicate with the customer to obtain additional information on complaints. If required, carry out trouble diagnosis under dynamic test conditions on the stand and/or road. Determine the cause of the fault and rectify it. Compare the actual condition of a vehicle with the current production configuration and assess its technical condition. Document the diagnosis procedure in a suitable diagnosis database. In case of complex technical problems and repeated cases, contact second level support. Support the System Technician in diagnosis and repair on demand.2Final Check and Vehicle Hand-Over (in special cases) Assist the Service Advisor to perform a final check of the repaired vehicles regarding the scope of the repairs, roadworthiness and operational reliability, using testing and measuring equipment. Assist the Service Advisor, personally handing over the repaired vehicles and, if required, explaining the results of the diagnosis as well as the work that has been performed. If necessary to conduct a final test run. If necessary, giving the customer additional instructions on handling.3Other Specialist Tasks Give colleagues in the workshop technical advice and information regarding product-specific problems.
