Today we will go o Mt Lang for sightseeing and next we will have two days in Zhang Jiajie and two days in Fenghuang ancient town, which also called as Phoenix town.After an hour ride, now we are at the first destination, Mt Lang. The name of our team is Heroes Liangshan Haohan. These are the members of our team. Now, here we go.Mt LangMt Lang is a national geological park as well as national scenic area. Mt Lang is located in Xinning County, in the southwest of Hunan province. Legend has it that Emperor Shun once had been here. He was deeply amazed by the outstanding scenery. He praised that it can be named as Mt Lang. Lang means great in Chinese. Mt Lang is the representative of Danxia landform. (We can see the typical red sandstone of this Danxia landform.) Mt Lang got the international reputation after it was inscribed on the world heritage list this year.Here we are at Ox Nose Castle. Why does the spot get this name? It is because that structure which looks like ox noses can be seen on the east giant rock. The local people named it as Ox Nose hill. Afterwards, some peasant uprisings were organized here. In order to commemorate these historical events, the place renamed as Ox Nose Castle.Here is inscription bearing “no. one lane in the world”. It was given by Professor Chen Guoda when he visited here in 1993. Professor Chen is a prestigious geologist as well as the namer of Danxia landform. It is 0.8m wide at its widest point and only 0.3m at its narrowest point. When in the presence of the lane, we can only experience a ray of sunlight. When we pass through the lane, the view will suddenly open up.Here is the scenic area of Octagonal Stronghold. The spot earned its name from the fact that 8 peaks closely connected on the top of the mountain. The combination of them resembles an octagonal lotus flower. Here is the scenic area of camel peak. It is the typical representative of danxia landform. Ladies and gentlemen, look carefully. Do you think that the camel seem like a friend who came all his way from the remote desert.This Chili Peak in an upside-down position stands 180m high. This chili is the symbol of hospitable and enthusiastic Hunan people. In September, 2002 French Spiderman Alain Robert successfully challenged the Guinness world record of rock climbing here. Here is Zixia Cave. The scenic spot boasts green hills and willow. Actually Zixia Cave is not a really cave, but a canyon surrounded by high red cliffs. When the sunset shines on the red cliffs, it reflects thousands of rosy cloud and rays. After entering Zixia Cave you can hear brook murmuring, birds singing and see splashing waterfalls, green bamboo and blooming wild flowers. The spot also is the holy land of Buddhism and Taoism.After seeing the greatness of Mt Lang, now we are enjoying the softness of Fuyi River. Originated from Cat Mountain in Guangxi province, the Fuyi River gets through the whole Langshan Scenic Area. It is also regarded as mother river of Xinning County. The water of Fuyi River is so clean that you can see fish and sand under it. Here is the general-like rock. It is one of the six scenic wonders of Mt Lang. It stands 400m high. According to the legend, when the Emperor Shun passed by Mount Lang, he was fascinated by the beautiful scenery and speak highly of the Special Sauced Duck, so he designated this dish as an imperial dish. Since then, the Sauced Dark became well-known. You must be curious about how this attractive dish was cooked. First, pour the duck blood into acetic water, mix with ginger and garlic. Second, dice the duck, stir-fry, and stew with chili and garlic. Third, pour the duck blood sauce and soy into the pot slowly, stir until cooked. This dish is very fresh, tender, nutritious and delicious. You wont miss it! There are other local dishes, such as Braised Chicken, Bean Curd in Spiced Sauce, Yijiang Fish, Fried Shrimp Balls and so on. After dinner, if youd like to have some dessert, I recommend the Sweet wine & glue pudding. This dessert is made from glutinous rice, sweet wine and egg. It tastes sweet and smooth.
