Research of Image Data Fusion Algorithm based on WaveletTransformAbstract:Image data fusion technique has played an important role in image processing recently. Existingalgorithm for image data fusion are not quite satisfactory for object detection. In order to improve theresolution of target and suppress the detection noise of each sensor , a new algorithm for image data fusionbased on wavelet transform is presented. By decomposing the image with wavelet transform, waveletcoefficients and approximation coefficients at different scales are obtained. We took those coefficients withlarger absolute value in-between the multi-resolution images as the important wavelet coefficients andcomputed the weighted mean value of the approximation coefficients. And the fused image can be obtainedby using the inverse wavelet transform for the important wavelet coefficients and the weightedapproximation coefficients.
