Unit 5 What are the shirts made of? Section B (2a-2e)说课稿Good morning, everyone,Today, its a pleasure for me to stand here and Im very pleased to have such an opportunity to share some of my teaching ideas with you. First, let me introduce myself. My name is WangYing, and I am working as an English teacher in No.6 Town Middle School.My topic today is Unit 5 What are the shirts made of? Section B (2a-2e). Its areading lesson about Chinese traditional arts. Students maybe are interested in it.Part One Analysis of the Teaching MaterialOne: Status and Function1. This unit tells us three kinds of Chinese traditional arts, they are sky lanterns, paper cutting and Chinese clay art. Students should understand the symbols of them.2. To attain “the skill” request of reading , I will have the students do some exercise about the text.3. Such a topic is very important in this unit. I will lead the students to use their imagination and encourage them to be creative. For example, helping them use English to describe Chinese traditional art. So I think if the students can learn this lesson well, it will be helpful to make them learn the rest of passage.4. While teaching them, I will also encourage them to say something about what they think the Chinese traditional arts. In a way, from practising such a topic, it can be helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken language.Two: Teaching Aims and DemandsThe teaching aims basis is established according to Junior School English syllabus provision.1. Knowledge aimsTo get the main idea and master phrases and sentences.2. Ability aimsTo Ability aim is to master some reading skills.3. Moral aimsTo love traditional art ,love our country.4. Important and difficult points :To develop their reading skills.Part Two The Teaching MethodsAccording to the aims and important pointsIll use audio-visual teaching method , communicative teaching method and task-based teaching method and so on.Part Three learning methods Before class, Ill divide the students into 5 or 6 groups , take learning before teaching method; mind-map method ;filling the chart method .Part Four Teaching stepsAs this lesson plays an important part in the English teaching of this unit, I have decided the following steps to train their ability of reading .There are 6 steps in my teaching procedure.Step1: warm-up and lead in Step2: presentation Step3: consolidation and extensionStep4: summaryStep5: homework step6:Self-assessment The entire steps are:Step1 Warm-up and Lead-in Show the students some pictures of Chinese traditional arts, like sky lanterns, paper cutting, Shadow figures , Chinese New Year Paintings, Chineseknot, Beijing Opera facial masks, Chinese Embroidery and Chinese clay art and so on. Ask the students: What can you see from the picture? Do you know these Chinese traditional arts ?Purpose of my designing: In this part, have the students say more about what they see or what they dont see. In this way, they will know todays lesson has something about Chinese traditional arts.Step2 Presentation1. Let students predict :set a question, let students choose the main topic of this passage.Purpose of my designing: After thinking and predicting, the students will know the main idea deeply.2. Skimming: Read quickly and fill in the blank. Find a general introduction andspecific details and examplesPurpose of my designing: Let students know a general introduction of the topic is usually followed by specific details and examples. 3. Read the passage and complete the chart. Find the traditional art form, Mate rials and symbols. Purpose of my designing: let students learn more about these three kinds of the Chinese traditional arts.4. Scanning: Read Para.1 and fill in the blank. Read Para.2 and complete the mind-map about sky lanterns. Read Para.3 and complete the information about paper cutting. Read Para.4 and number the steps(步骤)of making clay art pieces.Purpose of my designing: let students learn the passage step by step. After learning of each paragraph, using some questions to help them understand and remember the main knowledge points. .Step3: consolidation and extension1. Listen to the passage and answer the questions and share beautiful sentences. Purpose of my designing: Encourage them to say more.2. Read the text again, find out the words or the sentences you dont under -stand. Discuss difficulties in group. Ask the teacher for help. Get the meaning of the phrases.( such as , turn . into , send out, cover with, rise into, put . on).Then Complete the sentences using these phrases.Purpose of my designing: bring up the cooperate spirit between students. And test them how they understand this passage.3. Say something about art form you like in your group. Purpose of my designing: Give them more chance to say more.4. moral education: Traditional art forms are the fortune (财富) of our country. They should be known by people all over the world. As a Chinese , we should be proud of them. Love our traditional art! Love our country!Step4:summaryThree parts: traditional art, reading skills and emotion. Purpose of my designing: Review the content with students together.Step5:homework All of the students must write a passage about a traditional art.
