ofsteps wherewe suggestyou referenceit.If youdo nothave the User Guide,go toxmradio.,click onSHOP,then clickon youronyX,and thenclick SUPPORT.Click on theUser Guide link.You canuse eitherthe Dash Mount orthe WindowMount for your radio,depending upon your vehicleand thelocation where you wantto placeyour radio.CAUTION!Make sureyour radioisnt in a placewhere itcould interferewith drivervisibility orsafe deploymentof theairbags.Airbag locationsare typicallymarked with“SRS”logos.IMPORTANT!When youinstall thechosen mount,do notyet attachthe PowerConnect Vehicle Dock to themount.The cablesmust beattached priorto connectingthe dockto themount.Installing the Dash Mount:CAUTION:The adhesiveused on the Dash Mount may be difficultto remove.Do notinstall thismount onleather surfaces(contact yourautomobile dealershipif youare unsureabout yourdash surface),and makesure theair temperatureis at least60?F(15?C)during installation.If its notatleast60?F,turn on the heaterin your vehicle tobring thetemperature upto60?F.1Locate aflat surfacefor theDashMount.Make surethere isample roomfor the PowerConnect Vehicle Dock andradio wheninstalled.2Set theorientation of theorientation iscorrect,tighten theknob.4Clean thesurface with the alcohol preparation pad,and let it dry thoroughly.5Peel offtheadhesiveliner.Position,press,and hold theDashMount inplace for30seconds.IMPORTANT!Allow theDashMountadhesive tocure(dry)for atleast24hours beforeusing themount.Dock MountingPlateKnobAdhesive FootInstallingthe WindowMount:IMPORTANT!States orlocalities mayprohibit drivingwith asuction mounton the windshield.(See CaliforniaVehicle CodeSection26708(a);Minnesota Statutesxx,Section169.71).When drivingin theseareas,the dashmounting optionshould beused alcoholpreparation pad and letit drythoroughly.3Press andholdthemount againstthe windshield.Then pressthe leverall theway downto attachthe WindowMount to the windshield.4Loosen theknob onthe WindowMount toadjust theheight of the radiofor thebest view.Once theheight iscorrect,tighten theknob.The dockmounting platecan beswiveled to the leftor right,and adjustedup ordown,to optimizethe locationusing thealcoholpreparationpadandletitdrythoroughlyand placetheantennain thelocation youselected.2Install theMagic MountAntenna PickupTruckSedan orCoupeConvertibleSUVInstall theMagic MountAntenna(continued)3Feed theantenna wireunder the rubber moldingaround thefront orrear windshield,and into the sealaround thetrunk ordoor.For aconvertible,the cablecanberouted directlyinto thetrunk.TIP!Use atool likea bluntplastic puttyknife,a creditcard,a plasticknife,orasimilar blunttool tohelp hidewires along thewindshieldtrim andinterior trim.Hide theMagicMountAntenna CableInside theVehicleThe bestplace tohide yourantenna cabledepends on your type of vehicle.When theantenna ismounted atthe rear of the vehicle,its usuallyeasiest torun the cable from the rearto thefront toward theradioby routingthe cablealongtheinterior trimwhere itmeets the carpet,gently pushingit behindthe edgesof thetrim.Bring thecable outfrom thetrim and route it under thecarpet towardthe dashboard.When theantenna ismounted atthefrontof thevehicle,bring thecable into therubberweather strippingaround thedoor to the bottomofthedoor opening.Bring thecable outoftheweather strippingandrouteitunder thecarpettowardthedashboard.Coil anyexcess cableinahidden location,such asunderthecarpet,keeping itaway fromany vehiclepedals orcontrols.Secure theexcess cablewith wireties.Plug theantenna into the silverANT connectionontherear ofthe dock.TIP!A dryvehicle isnice.Avoid damagingor promisingthe window,door,and trunk seals andtrunksealsas youroute thecable.TIP!For morehelp,refer tothe thePowerConnect PowerAdapter intoyour vehicles cigarettelighter orpower adaptersocket.Then plugit into the redPWR connector ontherearofthe dock.Use onlythe providedPowerConnect PowerAdapter.Attach theDocktothe Mountand theRadio tothe DockAttachthePowerConnectVehicle Docktothemount thatyouselected.Utilize thewire guideattherearofthe docktohelporganize thewire andcables,and makeyour anAvailable FMChannel inYour AreaAn available FM channelis one thats not being used by anFM radiostation in your area.When youtune yourFM radio to anavailable channel,you shouldonly hearstatic orsilencenot talkor music.We remendone ofthe followingmethods tofind anavailable FM channel:a Use the SIRIUS|XM FMChannel Finderat .xmradio./fmchannel.Go tothe websiteand enteryour zipcode.The ChannelFinder willsuggest alist of available FM channels in your area.For convenience,write downor printout the list.ORb Manuallytune through your localFM channelson your vehicles FM radio.Turn on your vehicles FM radio.Start at88.1and usetheManualtune functiononyour vehicles FMradio totune througheach FM channel one-by-one(88.1followed by88.3etc.)to locatechannels thatarentbeingusedby a localFMradiostation.Write downeach FM channel thathas onlystatic orsilence onit,until youreach107.9.Once youhave createdyour listofavailable FMchannels,you will need tofind theone thatprovides thebest
