Hello,Everyone. Welcome to our program college students English interview. I am the host YYJ. Today we have two college students WT and SYP. Please say hello to everyone.A: Hello, I am WT. I am glad to come to this program.B: Hi, I am SYP. Im glad to see everybody. Boundless is the sea for fish to dive at will, unlimitedis the sky for birds to fly at ease. Everyone carries a dream of their own. Today we are talking about the pros and cons for the topic “Should we hold on to our dreams?” Id like to ask you a few questions before the formal start of the discussion. Well, Do you know Martin Luther Kings speech I have a dream?A: I know it, we had learnt this article in high school. Our teacher also played this video to us.B: Yes, It is really an inspiring speech. I also have a deep memory of it. OK, then please talk to you about what is a dream.A: in my opinion, dream is looking forward to, and the dream is strong - is fleeting dream you insist on the ideal as their courage and perseverance, are you responsible for their own highest level.B: ah, dreams are like the starts in the sky. We can never reach them. However, like most mariners, we need dreams to chart our course. We need dreams to support us. With a dream, we have a direction. With a direction, we will never be confused. With a dream, we have hope. With hope, we have strength to fight. Thats really great. So what are your dream?A: When you ask me this question. I dont know how I can tell you the answer. Let me see. In three years, I hope I can graduate from college and find a stable job. Whats about you?B: I have had many dreams since I was young. When I was five, I wanted myself to be a princess. When I was 10 years old, I hope I can have very good grades. A few years ago, I wanted to be admitted to a prestigious university. Now I want to be a good graduate student. Well, do you think we should hold on to your dreams?A: We should hold on our dreams. It plays an important role in our life.B: I am agree with A. I think what she said is very reasonable. Now we have formally entered into the discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of insisting on dreams. You can both choose one point to discuss.A: I want to choose the advantages of insisting on my dream.B: Ok, then I choose another one-insist on the shortcomings of the dream. Then please explain to you on your own arguments. The two participants take turns saying.A: Langston Hughes once said that “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. This quote tells us that we should always strive to attain our dreams in life. Dreams push us to move forward, to struggle, to strive all the time. Without dreams, life is a life without hope; without dreams, we are as lost as a bird which has lost the gift of flight. So follow our dreams and let our ambition fuel us to surpass our limits. Never quit and always think of different ways to win.(兰斯顿休斯曾说过:“紧紧抓住梦想,因为如果梦想消亡,生命就像折断翅膀的鸟儿,不能飞翔。”。这句话告诉我们,我们应该永远努力实现我们的人生梦想。梦想推动我们前进,奋斗,努力奋斗。没有梦想,生活就是没有希望的生活;没有梦想,我们就像失去了飞行天赋的鸟一样迷失。所以跟随我们的梦想,让我们的雄心激励我们超越极限。永远不要放弃,总是想着赢得胜利的不同方法。)B: There is saying that “You can dream, but not make dreams your master”. We all have dreams in our life. These dreams may be things we want to accomplish, places we want to go, or feats we must attempt. Whatever they are, dreams give us a purpose in life and a meeting to live, and allow us to fight for what we believe in. However, we should not let our dreams control our life and become a slave to them. In fact there are other things we should work for apart from our own dreams, such as our family and our friends. So dont be afraid to let go our dreams if we have it. A: Dreams give us a purpose in life and a meaning to live. Without dreams, life is a life without hope. (梦想给了我们生活的目的和生活的意义。 没有梦想,生活就是没有希望的生活。)B: Dreams dont always come true because some dreams are unrealistic. (梦想并不总是成真,因为一些梦想是不现实的。)A: If it had not been for those people who persistently held on to their seemingly unrealistic dreams, wed all probably still be living in caves. (如果不是那些一直坚持看似不切实际的梦想的人,我们大概还是住在山洞里。)B: The British Medical Journal once said in an editorial that much of lifes pain stems from the gap between peoples unrealistic dreams and reality.(“英国医学杂志”在一篇社论中曾经说过,生活的许多痛苦源于人们不切实际的梦想和现实之间的差距。)A: It was Alexander Graham Bells unrealistic dream that led to the invention of the telephone. (亚历山大格雷厄姆贝尔的不切实际的梦想导致了电话的发明。)B: Dreams are changeable, and what once might have seemed like a dream career may no longer suit us.(梦想是多变的,而曾经梦想中的事业可能不再适合我们。)A: Harland David Sanders, better known as Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken, had a hard time selling his chicken recipe. He had been rejected numerous times before a restaurant finally accepted it.(哈德兰戴维桑德斯,更有名的是肯德基上校的桑德斯,他的鸡肉配方很难卖。在餐馆终于接受之前,他被无数次拒绝了。)B: Lu Xun went abroad to purse a degree in Western Medicine in Japan. But later he changed his mind when he saw the apathy of Chinese people toward their own compatriots, and became an influential writer famous for his harsh criticism of social problems in China. (鲁迅出国留学西医。 但后来他看到中国人对待自己的同胞的冷漠,变成了一个有影响力的作家,他以对中国社会问题的严厉批评着称。)A: Flying would be unthinkable for us if it had not been for the Wright brothers numerous attempts at creating flying machines, several years of hard work, and tons of failed prototypes. (如果不是赖特兄弟多次尝试创造飞行机器,多年的努力工作,以及大量失败的原型,飞行对我们来说是不可想象的。)B: When people set themselves unrealistic expectations, they are very likely to end up with depression and anxiety when they fail to achieve them. (当人们设定了不切实际的期望时,如果达不到目标,他们很可能最终会陷入忧郁和焦虑。)A: When we are striving to reach a goal or fulfill a dream, it is inevitable to face challenges, but we should not give up our dreams just because of these challenges. (当我们努力达成目标或实现梦想时,面对挑战是不可避免的,但我们不应该因为这些挑战而放弃梦想。)B: When we are young, we all have dreams about the future. Perhaps we want to be a great scientist, or an astronaut, or a famous writer. But by the time most of us grow up, we might realize how difficult it is to accomplish suc
