Unit3 Section A Period1(1a1c)教学设计一、教材分析 本节课是新目标英语八年级下册第三单元第一课时,内容是谈论过去进行时的用法。围绕what were you doing when the UFO arrived,这一主题展开各种教学活动,让学生能在“做中学”。用英语叙述过去正在发生的事情。2.教学重点 过去进行时的用法。3.教学难点when 引导的时间状语从句在过去进行时中的用法。二、教学目标:根据课程标准和本课的内容及其教材所处的地位,结合初中学生的实际情况,我制定以下教学目标:1.知识与技能:Key vocabulary: bathroom、bedroom、kitchen、UFO、alien、 barbers chair.cutting hair、climbing 、jumping、land 、get out of 、take off、 in front of .Key sentences: When were you doing when the UFO arrived?I was sitting in the barbers chair. The barber was cutting my hair.2.过程与方法:培养学生的听、说、读、写的能力,并根据本课时的图片,学会用逻辑的顺序讲故事。3.情感态度价值观:培养学生学习英语的积极性和兴趣,引导学生热爱自然科学和社会科学,并通过本课时的学习,学会做人的道理。三、教学重、难点:重点:掌握过去进行时难点:以when和while引导的时间状语从句。四、设计理念:本节课我从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式以及多样的教学途径,充分激发学生强烈的学习愿望,使学生获得最基本的英语听说能力,发展学生的综合语言运用能力。并在注重学生知识能力发展的同时,特别强调学生人格的发展和思维的发展。五教学手段:利用多媒体,录音机辅助课堂教学。六、教学方法:1.任务型教学法 2.情景教学法 3.互动合作教学法教学过程:Step 1 Greeting (3m)1. Exchange greetings with the Ss. 2. Duty report. 3. Enjoy the song Are you sleeping?设计意图: 热情地与学生打招呼以拉近与学生之间的距离,英文歌曲营造宽松的学习环境,同时也为新课教学做好铺垫。而值日生每天的值日报告可以锻炼学生的胆量和口语。Step 2 Revision (5m)1. Show four animation pictures on the screen After showing the pictures, ask: -What is Lilys mother doing? -She is cooking. -What is lilys father doing? -He is watching TV. -What is lily doing? -She is sleeping late.-What is Lilys brother doing? -He is doing his homework.(Write the answers on the Bb.)设计意图: 复习进行时态2. Lead the students into the real situations: (Ask one boy student.)T: What are you doing now? S: I am listening to you. (Ask the whole class.)T: What is he doing?Ss: He is listening to you. (Repeat this with one girl student. Practice with the whole class, trying to revise the tense with different personal pronouns.)设计意图: 反复的操练,让学生更熟练的掌握现在进行时,并运用于现实中。Step 3 Leading-in (11m)1. Play a clip of film about the UFO for the students.2. T: Whats UFO? How much do you know about UFO?Students discuss in groups and share their answers with the class. (Explain UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object.)3. Draw a UFO on the Bb. (T: Imagine a UFO landed in our county at 9:00 last night.)Then ask each student to complete the painting , drawing what they were doing at 9:00 last night on the Bb.4. After finishing the painting, T: What were you doing when the UFO arrived? Help the students to answer: I was doing my homework ./ I was walking on the street./ I was watching TV.(Write their answers on the blackboard. eg. I was doing my homework)Then,T : He was doing my homework.(Ask the class to repeat.)5. Ask some other students the questions.6. Then students ask and answer in pairs: What were you doing when the UFO arrived? I was .ing.7. Point to the blackboard-writing( During my teaching above, I have written it on the blackboard step by step). Help them to find out the differences between the two pairs of sentences. Tell the students:Today we are going to learn a new tense -the past continuous tense.Introduce the past continuous tense.设计意图:、UFO是神秘而令人充满幻想的,这个活动可以激发学生们的探索宇宙奥秘的精神。、班级壁画本身就是锻炼学生合作精神的园地。学生也比较感兴趣,通过这个活动还可以学习本单元的语法项目- 过去进行时态。这样学生也可以更容易地接受这个时态8. More practice about past continuous tense.设计意图: 通过更多的图片操练新学的时态。9. Comparison: make a comparison between the two tenses. 时态现在进行时过去进行时用法表示现在正在进行的动作表示过去某个时刻正在进行的动作结构is/am/are + doingwas/were + doing例句I am having an English class now.I was having an English class at this time yesterday.设计意图: 操练熟练后让学生比较两种时态的区别,这样就简单明了多了。Step 4 Section A 1a 1b(5m)(1a) 1.Show a picture (the picture on page 18) on the screen. Tell about the picture with the students. T: A reporter was asking some people “What were you doing when the UFO arrived?” If you want to know what they were doing. Please open your books, lets look at 1a. please look at the picture and match the statements with the people in the picture2. Check the answer by asking different students.(1b) 1. In order to transit from 1a to 1b naturally. T: Would you like to know what the reporter was asking? Now please look at the picture and listen to the reporters questions and circle the correct responses. 2. Play the recording for the first time . this time students only listen. And then a second time. Students circle the correct phrases this time. Then check the answers with the whole class.设计意图: 新的时态操练熟后才能到课文中。通过各种图片资料把学生带入课文。此时做1a 和 1b 已经很简单了Step5 Section A (1c)(5m)1.Pairwork (Ask students to ask and answer in pairs) A: Where was the girl when the UFO arrived? B: She was in front of the library. A: What was she doing when the UFO arrived?B: She was standing in front of the library.2Ask some pairs to act it out in front of the class according to the pictures in 1a.设计意图:再次通过1a 的图片操练本节课的重点句型,使学生都熟练掌握。Step 6 A Memory Competition (5m)The competition is like this: 1. show ten animation pictures on the screen. As soon as one picture with corresponding time appears, it disappears very quickly (about several seconds). 2. The whole class is divided into four teams. If one student knows the answer, he must stand up quickly before the second one stands up. If he gives the answer correctly, then his team can get one score. 设计意图:通过1a的图片操练后,学生可能很累很烦了,为更好地活跃课堂气氛激发他们的学习兴趣,来个比赛复习句型,效果更好。但务必要求学生说出整个句型。Step 7 Role play.(policeman and suspect)(6m)Design an imaginary situation: A bike was stolen in the park at 11:00 last Sunday. A policeman is making a survey of this accident among you. P: Where were you at 11:00 last Sunday?A: I was at home ()P: What were you doing there?A: I was1. I ask several students to make a model dialogue with me. 2. Students role play in groups of four. 3. Choose one student in each team as a policeman. They make a survey in their team. They should write down their survey results. These policemen ask: Where were you at 11:00 last Sunday? What were you doing there?Then ask these policemen to report their survey results to the class.The report may be like this: A was at at 11:00 last Sunday. He was chatting with his friend. B was at 设计意图: 我把4a和4b整合到这一环节。让学生做警察和嫌疑犯的游戏。这个活动风趣幽默,让学生把所学的知识用于现实生活中来,可以给枯燥的语言学习以丰富的内涵,模拟生活情景表演,体现了英语学习的时效性。在审讯过程中再一次复习了重点句型。Step 9 Sum up(2m) (After the students go through the tasks, it is the right time for me to help them sum up the usage of the past continuous tense. The summary can help them form a full idea about the tense.)设计意图: 最后的总结加深学生对重点难点的印象。用法表示过去某个时刻正在进行的动作结构was/were + doing常见的标志词1) at 9 oclock yesterday, from 8 to 9 yesterday morningat this/that time yesterday2) 主句(过去进行时) when
