Besides，I also think high of her writing technics, firstly, there are all kinds of language used in this novel, such as the proverb in the 1960s, some words and sentences from Leaves of Grass written by Watt Whitman, authentic Amercian English, Chinese English in Chinatown. We cannot neglect the practical significance of this linguistic features, because it not only inherit Chinese culture but also show us the American language culture, which help Chinese American to speak for themselves in American mainstream culture. Secondly, she created the novel by the means of parody, contributes to the development of the novel. For example, Chinese Amercian beatnik is the parody of beat generation, the incarnation of Monkey King at the present day is the parody of Monkey King in Journey to the West. The first part will give brief introductions on the background which contains the development of the Chinese American literature, the images of Chinese Americans in different literary works as well as the introduction to the author, Maxine Hong Kingston and a brief introduction of Tripmaster monkey, his fake book. This part mainly explains why Maxine Hong Kingston wanted to create such an image and her intention. The second part is going to have a brief analysis of the main character Ah Sing. This part is the major part of my thesis, I focus on analyzing Ah Sings mulit-images as American incarnation of Monkey King at the present day, Chinese American Beatnik and Spiritual embodiment of Watt Whitman.In the third part, it is the natural conclusion, I analyze the authors intention of writing this novelBy analyzing Ah Sing，we can learn Maxine Hong Kings writing technics ,which can also applied to our composition.
