IntelligenceandAutomationCADSoftWaresWithadvancementoftechnologyandhigh一speeddevelopmentofworld,UpgradeandinnovationofProductsarespeededup.NomatterwhatindustrialProductsandappliance,aremostlymoldedbymold.Therefore,PlasticPartsdesignadvanceshigherdemandsforperiodsandPrecisionofmolddesignandManufacture.BecausemolddesigndependsondesignersexperienceandKnowledgecompletelybytraditionalCADsoftwares,50efficiencyandqualitycantcompletelysatisfythedemandsofmolddevelopment.Sointelligenceandautomationareveryimportantinmolddesign.ThisissueHasjoinedtheexpertsystemtomolddesign,anddevelopedanintelligentzedInjectionmolddesignsystem.BasingonthePlasticPartsinformation,theSystemcanimplementautomaticallyreasoningandanalysisbytheinterrelatedknowledge,andselectanrelevantmodelfromthemodelbase,thenrebuildthemodelbyParameterizedtechnology,finallyfinishthedesignProcessofinjectionmold.TheentiredesignProcessiscompletedbycomputerautomaticallywithoutthecalculationofdesigners,whichdecreasesflawscausedbylackofexperienceofmolddesigners,andhelpstoavoidmistakesandimproveefficiencyandqualityofmolddesign.ThisPapersummarizedthedesignknowledgeofinjectionmoldssideaction;Thenbuildsknowledgebasesuingthehybridrepresentationofframerepresentationandrulerrepresentation:andintroducesthePrinciples,Processedmethodofcomputeautomaticdesignsystemforsideactionindetail:TakingthebestqualityofPlasticPartsandhighestefficiencyasmainpurpose,thispaperfinallydevelopssideaction:andalsobuildsthegraphlibraryofsideactionusingParameterizedtechnologybasedonSolidworks.Ininformationmanagementsystem,PlasticPartsaredecaledwithinaspectofshrinkageanddraft,whichwillmakemodel、morePrecisionforthenextdesign.AnactualProcessofthemolddesignforatypicalPlasticParthasbeendemonstrated,whichshowsthattheideaofsystemisfeasibleandthissystemcanbeusedexpedientlytosatisfythedemandsofmolddesign.Thispaperalsoinvestigatesmenuandinterfaceofthissoftware,andfinallyDesignsalaconic,intuitiveandmanipulatedfriendlyinterfaceforinjectionmolddesigninordertomakethissoftwaremoreacceptabletousers.MoldCavitiesandCoresThecavityandcoregivethemoldingitsexternalandinternalshapesrespectively,theimpressionimpartingthewholeoftheformtothemolding.Wethenproceededtoindicatealternatewaysbywhichthecavityandcorecouldbeincorporatedintothemoldandwefoundthatthesealternativesfellundertwomainheadings,namelytheintegermethodandtheinsertmethod.Anothermethodbywhichthecavitycanbeincorporatedisbymeansofsplitinsertsorsplits.Whenthecavityorcoreismachinedfromalargeplateorblockofsteel,oriscastinonepiece,andusedwithoutbolsteringasoneofthemodplates,itistermedanintegercavityplateorintegercoreplate.Thisdesignispreferredforsingle-impressionmoldsbecauseofcharacteristicsofthestrength,smallersizeandlowercost.Itisnotusedasmushformulti-impressionmoldsasthereareotherfactorssuchasalignmentwhichmustbetakenintoconsideration.Ofthemanymanufactingprocessesavailableforpreparingmoldsonlytwoarenormallyusedinthiscase.Thereareadirectmachiningoperationonaroughsteelforgingorblankusingtheconventionalmachinetools,ortheprecisioninvstmentcastingtechniqueinwhichamasterpatternismadeofthecavityandcore.Thepatternisthenusedtoprepareacastingofthecavityorcorebyaspecialprocess.A4.25%nickel-chrome-molybdenumsteel(BS970-835M30)isnormallyspecifiedforintegermoldplateswhicharetobemadebythedirectmachiningmethod.Theprecisioninvestmentcastingmethodusuallyutilizesahigh-chromesteel.Formoldscontaintingintricateimpressions,andformulti-impressionmolds,itisnotsatisfactorytoattempttomachinethecavityandcoreplatesfromsingleblocksofsteelaswithintegermolds.Themachiningsequencesandoperationwouldbealtogethertoocomplicatedandcostly.Theinsert-blosterassemblymethodisthereforeusedinstead.Themethodconsistsinmachiningtheimpressionoutofsmallblocksofsteel.Thesesmallblocksofsteelareknown,aftermachininf,asinserts,andtheonewhichformsthemalepartistermedthecoreinsertand,conversely,theonewhichformsthefemalepartthecavityinsert.Thesearetheinsertedandsecurelyfittedintoholesinasubstantialblockorplateofsteelcalledabloster.Theseholesareeithersunkpartwayoraremachinedrightthroughthebolsterplate.Inthelattercasetherewillbeaplatefastenedbehindthebolsterandthissecurestheinsertsinposition.Boththeintegerandtheinsert-bolstermethodshavetheiradvantagesdependinguponthesize,theshapeofthemolding,thecomplexityofthemold,whetherasingleimpressionoramulti-impression;oldisdesired,thecostofmakingthemold,ect.Itcanthereforebesaidthatingeneral,oncethecharacteristicsofthemoldreqiredtodoaparticularjobwhichhavebeenweighedup,thedecisionastowhichdesigntoadoptcanbemade.Someoftheseconsiderationshavealreadybeendiscussedundervariousbroadheadings,suchascost,buttoenablethereadertoweighthemupmoreeasily,whenfacedwithaparticularproblem,thecomparisonoftherelativeadvantagesofeachsystemisdiscussedunderanumberofheadings.Unquestionablyforsingleimpressionmoldstheintegerdesignistibepreferredirrespectiveofwhetherthecomponentformisasimpleoracomplexone.Theresultingmoldwillbestronger,smaller,lesscostly,andgenerallyincorporatealesselaboratecollingsystemthantheinsert-bolsterdesign.Itshouldbeborneinmindthatlocalinsertscanbejudiciouslyusedtosimplifythegeneralmanufactureofthemoldimpression.Formulti-impressionmoldsthechoicesisnotsoclear-cut.Inthemajorityofcasestheinsert-bolstermethodofconstructionisused,thecaseofmanufacture,moldalignment,andresultinglowermoldcostsbeingtheoverridingfactorsaffectingthechoices.Forcompenentsofverysimpleformitisoftenadvantangeoustouseonedesignforoneofthemoldplatesandthealternativedesignfortheother.Forexample,consideramulti-impressionmoldforabox-typecompenent.Thecavityplatecouldbeoftheintegerdesigntogaintheadvantagesofstrength,therebyallowingasmallermoldplate,whilethecoreplatecoulsbeoftheinsert-bolsterdesignwhichwillsimplifymachiningoftheplateandallowforadjustmentsformoldalignment.TheInjectionMoldingInjectionmolding(BritishEngish:Molding)isamanufacturingprocessforproducingpartsformboththermoplasticandthermosettingplasticmaterials.Materialisfedintoaheatedbrarel,mixed,andforcedintoamoldcavitywhereitcoolsandhardenstoconfigurationofthemoldcavity.Afteraproductisdesigned,usuallybyanindustrialdesigneroranengineer,moldsaermadebyamoldmaker(oratoolmaker)frommetal,usuallyeithersteeloraluminium,andprecision-machinedtoformthefeaturesof
