Intrinsically safety protection is based on the principle of current and voltage limitation in a circuit. Power is kept in such low level that

18、neither sparks nor by unpermissible surface heating of the electric components can the surrounding explosive atmosphere be ignited. Not only the voltage and current of the electrical equipment but also the energie storing inductors and capacitors in the whole circuit must be limited to safe values.
