5、, whats i/o system?in omputing, i/o is the communication between an information processingsystem (such as a computer) and the outside world. inputs are the signalsor data received by the system, and outputs are the signals or data sentfrom it. i/o devices are used by a person (or other system) to co
6、mmunicatewith the computer.step 2. skimming is a rapid -reading skill that does not require reading all thematerial word by word but requires a high degree of concentration. inthe process of skimming, you should look for the gist of the passage,skip the words and phrases that are not important to th
7、e meaning, andstill obtain an adequate comprehension.for example, the keyboard and the mouse (pic 1.10) may be an inputdevice or the computer, while monitors (pic 1.9) and printers are 25分钟 considered as output devices. modem (pic 1.11) and network interface cards(nic, pic 1.12), typically serve for

10、rt these signalsinto symbols that the user can see or read.these interactions betweenthe computer and the user are called human-computer interactions.step 4. when your reading habits are good, your reading is efficient and rapid;when the habits are bad, your is slow and unsatisfying. when you read 2

16、onnection is oftenfound between two sentences, for example, one sentence describing the occurrence; while the other explaining why or how it occurs, or what consequence it brings about this practice of identifying the logical connection among sentences helps to improve you reading comprehension. whe
