In an inverted senten ce, part of the predicate or the whole predicate comes before the subject. In a usual sentenc

11、it, speaking about different topics and discussing new ways to solve old problems. Today we are going to listen to the voices of the Earth Summit. And well talk about the environment problem again. First, let s learn the new words in this period. (Teacher shows the new words on the screen and gives

13、 the speeches from the Earth Summit and complete the outlines below, IIIplay the tape twice continuously. Listen carefully and finish your task. At the end ,Ill check your an swers. (After liste ning, teacher introduces the next task.) T: Well done. Youve understood the speeches exactly. Do you agre

14、e with what they are saying? Work in pairs to talk about this question. Write downyour thoughts, comments, opinions and questions about what they said. Prepare for a few minu tes. If you want to give a good speech, there are a few thi ngs you n eed to con sider. I. Think about your audie nee a. Who will liste n to your speech? b. What are they i

18、n terested in? c. What do they want to know? d. What do they already know? Outlines like these will help you decide what you are going to say. II. Prepare and practise a. Research your topic carefully and orga nise the material, b. Before you give the speech, practise in front of a mirror or togethe

19、r with a friend. T: Your speeches were all made successfully, but in order you can make a better speech, I give you someadvice on preparing a speech. Look at the screen. Lets study together. Step IV Writi ng T: As we all know, en vir onment problems are beco ming more and more serious with the devel

20、opme nt of moder n agriculture and in dustry. Among all the problems, which do you think is the most serious one? Why do you thi nk so? What do you thi nk should be done to solve it? Nowwrite a paragraph to tell your reader about these questions. (Teacher writes the questions on the Bb. ) T: You can

21、 prepare your paragraph as follows: First, write a sentence that states your opinion, for example, “ I thi nk that air polluti on is the most serious problem because it does great harm to our health. ” Then list as many reasons as possible. Fin ally, use the senten ces to orga nise your paragraph. A

23、.) Many products are bad for the en vir onmen t. It is wrong to buy products that are harmful to the environment. To think that there is nothing we can do is in correct. What we do is importa nt because it affects the en vir onment I suggest that we do someth ing about these problems. I would advise

24、 people not to buy products that harm the en vir onment. I recomme nd that all of us should think about what we do and what we buy. Step V Summary and Homework T: You all did very well in class.
