We are goanna visit the nature reserve of Mountain Tianzi, acclaimed as the gem of forest and peaks. It is one of the scenic highlights in the scenic area of Wu Lingyuan

Enjoying favorable climate, Mountain Tianzi presents you fantastic natural beauty, overlooking mountains and valleys in the distance.We can see this strange landform known as quarts sandstone landform. According to scientific research, 300millon years ago here was vast ocean. About 100million year
3、s ago, due to the impact of waves, quarts sandstone laid more than 500m deep at the bottom of the sea. Later, owing to the movements of earth s crust, the land here appeared out the deep water. With small gravel washed away, the movements of rocks and rain s erosion, the region in the long years has
4、 formed the special quarts sandstone landform. Walk in the mountain and have an exciting experience of “an enlarged bonsai ,a minimized fairy land and gem of the forest and peaks. ”Here we are at Shen Tangwan, the most mysterious spot of Wu Lingyuan. It has nine level of rocks. Someone once ventured
5、 into the valley only to return when he was absolutely horrified on the fourth level of about 150m deep, howling wind accompanied by mournful shrills enshrouded in the valley. In 1968, some PLA soldiers planed to cull some precious medical herbs in the valley. With guns and slings, they went down th
6、e valley. Again they were forced back when they reached the sixth level. Even seen from there, the valley looked bottomless and horrible. They also saw with telescopes some giant boas and other wild beasts. Since then, Shen Tangwan has become a world of mysteries and no one has ever set foot in itAb
7、out 500m away from Shen Tangwan lies the Terrace for Mustering Officers where according to a legend that the son of heaven used to practice his army here. You might imagine how great the son of heaven was, practicing his arm here. Have a look at the peaks down there. At first glance, they look disor
8、derly. With close examination, they look neat in its formation. Do they look like soldiers, energetic and dignified , going on a expedition?In front of us is the Helong park. Entering the park, in sight is the Bronze Statue of Helong. It stands 6.5m in height , weighing more than 9 tons ( the weight
9、 of the horse included). This the largest and heaviest of all the statues of the great men of China in the past hundred years.Not far away from the back of the statue stands the overlook of Yun Qingyan, from there you may feast your eyes on the natural beauty of West Sea. West Sea refers to a sea of
10、 pillars and peaks, stretching for miles.Please look ahead. Not far away, charming peaks rising dramatically in uneven clusters, bear close resemblance to writing brush. This is the “Peaks of Royal Writing Brush ”, one the ten tourism highlights of Wu Lingyuan. Legend has that after his defeat, the
11、son of heaven burned all his official papers. When the papers were burning, he caught a glimpse of the royal writing brush, which reminded him of the past. With these writing brushes, he read official papers, wring comments. With these writing brushes, he gave orders, leading his army. After his def
12、eat, he felt ashamed to see these writing brushes. Angry and sad, he tossed these writing brushes into the valley. When the writing brushes landed, they magically changed into the peaks Peaks of the Royal Writing brush. The scenic spot is so famous that some stamps, official envelops and tickets hav
13、e been graced by the picture of the peaks.Dear friends, please look at the opposite side in the middle of the mountains. There you may feast your eyes on a natural beauty in mist. A slender maiden, stands gracefully, with a basket offlowers and nice smiles on her face. She is now scattering flowers

It is well-known for“ suffering from thousandyears of drought, its water will never run dry; suffering from endless excessive rain, its water will always be green. ”Jinbi
17、anxi is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. it is about 7.5 kilometers.Jinbianxi is like a blue ribbon around the matchless beauty- zhangjiajie. It displays the beauty of“ 300 strange peaks and 800 fine waters to the utmost”Then what a valley is jinbianxi after all? Mr shen congwen, a fa
18、mous Chinese writer, praisedit to be the “ maid of zhangjiajie” . And w-thuegiumaangzehopnrogmoter of zhangjiajieand a famous Chinese painter , praised it as“ ainwfaoirlydstories” . Now let s go andunveil the mysteries of jinbianxi following the footprints of Mr shen and Mr wu.Please carefully look
19、at the strange trees on the left side. They are dove trees. The dove tree is a perennial woody flower, which blossoms in the end of spring and beginning ofsummer . The flower is white, but its stigma has slight purplish red, like a dove mouth. And its flower has two long and big bracts, like a pair
20、of wings. The whole shape of the flower is like a flying dove. Itkindof streaepseocfucliahrina, so the foreign friendsendearingly call it“ the Chinese Dove Flower”.Now please look at both sides of the valley before you. What you re seeing is a tall andtower-like tree- dawn redwood, also one of the n
21、ational first-class protective plants. The dawn redwood is very ancient tree. People once thought it had totally disappeared. In 1941, the botanist of our country discovered it in Sichuan province. In 1982, when zhangjiajie was developed, we found large areas dawn redwood and other rare plants of ov
22、er 3000 species growing here. This is really a huge wealth the great nature has bestowed us.Please look at the right front, before us, the stone pillar towering into the sky is the jinbianyan. It s 378 meters high, just square, andktehricin the power part, sharp-topped,and with clear corners and edg
23、es on its four sides. It resembles a lifted steel whip, directly pointing into the sky, making people watch it with awe. What s more, the stone structurethat of red quartz sand stone and limestone, which, in the sunshine, illuminates golden lights and hence the name jinbianxi. Jinbianxi is the highe
24、st, steepest and the most magnificent stone peak in the scenic areas of zhangjiajie, as people praise,Everywhere you can see famous mountains and great rivers. Only jinbianxi is the most marvelous of all the marvelous.Look there is something more marvelous still. A huge peak is leaning closely onto
25、the left side of the magic whip. It looks like a powerful eagle, with its head lifted. One of its wings flapped, ready to soar into the sky, while the other is still half-embracing the jinbianyan, so it was called “the condor guarding the whip ”a,lso one of the typical scenic spots of jinbianxi.Afte
26、r seeing the spectacle of jinbianyan, you may wonder why the nature should be so mysterious. As demonstrated by science, about 300 million years ago, it was a vast sea.About 100 million years ago, as the result of lash by sea waves, quartz sandstone deposited over 500-meter thick on the sea floor. 27、ater this place became dry land after thestrong rise by the new structure movement. When the land surface rose, with the action of flowing water , some small sands and stones were washed away. Besides, rocks collapsedunder the action of gravity, and were washed slowly by rainfalls and streams. All these factors have made zhangjiajie area a rocky and woody landform of peculiar quartz sandstone, which is composed of series of pillars and peaks, square mountains and valleys.
